Thanks for the insight. Had a number of friends go to Bethel. None ever came back bubbling over with enthusiasm for the experience. I always thought that was kind of odd. None who came back ever tried to recruit others. I understand now. -

How the Bible disproves the JWs' 1914 invisible presence doctrine.
by Island Man inwatchtower teaches jws that christ's presence began invisibly in 1914. they also teach that the start of christ's presence coincides with the start of the last days.
whether you believe in the bible or not, watchtower claims these teachings come from the bible.
so does the bible actually agree with them?

My younger brother is an elder & we talk from time to time. Of all the signs given by Jesus identifying the "last days" the frequency of earthquakes should be one easily seen. Yet, with all scientific evidence available to the contrary, he insists on it being true. He's an intelligent person who forsook higher education. He's now in his sixties, had to apply for his social security early & drives a school bus part time to make ends meet. He has no retirement. Such a waste of a brilliant mind. It's frustrating to see the clear points made in discussions like this continually fall on deaf ears. -

I married during the scare of '75 to a woman I figured I'd learn to love after Armageddon. Surprise, no Armageddon. I made the best of it for 34 years. I found the love of my life (not a Witness) & divorced the first wife. Knew I would get disfellowshipped but figured I be back in after a year. Thank God one of the guys on the JC had an axe to grind & dragged it out over three years. During that time I really did my research & after reading C of C I was out. Congratulations for not wasting all those years. Weigh carefully what is really important to you. Going back only to fade costs a lot of time. And as they say " Don't waste time for time is what life is made of..." -

No more reporting time for field service!!!
by Khaleesi inso at last i am in my next step of my fade, this month is the first month i did not turned in any hours.
i received a text from our group leader an ms & i told him i didn't have any to report, then of course it got bumped up to the elder & i text him back i have no hours to report for december.
i came to this decision when reading many posters here about the yearbook stats, i do not want & refused to contribute to this organization "boosting" numbers for their glorious purposes, after the rc in australia they do not deserve for me to give them a "production" report of what i do for god, no more.

I like that idea Toesup. They expect you to hang your head in shame. Show them you have a great life but tell them nothing. Friends don't need an explanation, enemies don't deserve one. -

I almost died laughing at the meeting last night. OMG WTF is going on? Have I been away this long?
by macys inok so most of you guys know already that i am going through the reinstatement process for my parents but i do have a partially sinister plan which i will not mention here since someone told me that there are b-lites that read boards like this.
last night and it was the funniest experience i have ever seen.
besides that the brother doing the sound and video screwed up the whole thing when showing the videos and it took 3 brothers to fix it after 10 minutes, the whole thing was a joke.

You're so right punk; just another false religion. As Ray said: " I feel no need to go anywhere...I am simply trying then to be a Christian..... As I always say "Live Well ( Which encompasses being a good person) and Enjoy Life" (Which includes staying away from cults that have every intention of sucking the enjoyment out of your life.) -

Both great grand parents (The Garlands) were from Scotland. I remember them as short & feisty. Is that the norm in Scotland. And what is a Scottish Egg?
