Cart Witnessing....They deserve the same ''cold shoulder''
by RULES & REGULATIONS inhere is a man named jerry.
on a public sidewalk, he asks attendees leaving a jehovah's witness convention in san diego a simple question, ''do jehovah's witnesses have the truth.
not one person acknowledges him.

I enjoy cart witnesses. They're stuck there. So when I approach & engage in conversation, they're not going anywhere. Great time to torture them with questions about "generation, pedophile cases, dwindling congregations & attendance, etc." I never tell them I'm an ex-elder, just a well read worldly person.

Have Your Relationships Been Affected Because You Were A Jehovah’s Witness?

I've been out 12 yrs. Oldest daughter still in. I'm the only living grandparent left. It, of course, made no difference. Haven't seen her or my grandchildren in 12 yrs. Changed my will & cut her out entirely. Instructed my youngest daughter to not allow her at my funeral nor to allow her access to my home or any personal belongings. Be happy to allow her back in my life when she can give me my grandkids' childhood back to me....

Ray Franz
by pbrow ini know ray and his wife have passed but i wanted to take a few minutes and put my thanks in writing.
it is pretty incredible to me that someone who i never met, played such a major role in my outlook on life and more importantly in my (at the time) young daughters lives.
from the very first pages of "crisis of conscience" it seemed as though ray was writing to me.

Hollywood and the News Media Meltdowns
by minimus ini think it’s pretty comical to see these groups flip out every time they don’t get their way.
ii’m sure psychiatrists are making tons of money “treating “ these people for hysteria.🥴.

I think most people are fed up with listening to the media & Hollywood. I routinely now skip over CNN, MSNBC, the Washington Post & the NY Times. The days of an unbiased news source are gone. Walter Cronkite, where are you?

Is there a new Date by the Watchtower for the End of System?
by William Penwell innot sure if this topic has being covered recently.. my son asked me a question if the jw's have in the recent months being pushing a new end date to the system?
he was telling me about how his mother has being on him again about the urgency of the end of this system of things and he needs to do something asap.
i told him i am not aware of any new dates as i have being away from the cult for over 20 years.

I guess every JW has forgotten what the author of the "This generation" prophesy thought a "generation" was. In it's first fulfillment, Jesus was warning the early Christians. That warning was given in 33 AD. Jerusalem fell in 70 AD. Thirty-seven years. Long enough for those that heard the warning to benefit from it. I guess the Borg thinks we're going to live to be 150-160 years old.

It looks like the beginning of the end for the Democratic Party. It has become fractured with no clear direction and no way to fix the divisiveness. The far left is beginning to influence the balance of the moderate Democrats to the point where none of the current presidential hopefuls are willing to cross them. They will eventually pull the party apart with the result being none of the factions will have a cohesive consensus to effect future elections.

Paradise Lost
by galaxy7 indoes anyone remember the book paradise lost to paradise regained?
i was made to study the scary parts evertime i misbehaved which must have been all the time as the book imprinted into my brain.all i wanted in life as a child was to join the girl guides go hang out at the ywca with my friends and take part in sports day at school.so my mother asked the then congregation servant if i was demonized, they decided i would be fertalizer for my mothers pear tree.
anyway i grew up fairly normal, took me ages not to be afraid of lightning.had children who never entered a kingdom hall.most of my family served in some capacity at bethel so they dont talk to me.since then i have been a searcher looking for somthing to fill the void.has anyone found anything??

My mother made us suffer through that book. When we finished it we read it again. This time underlining the answers.

I grew up in the society & left after high school in 1969 to party my ass off. As 1974 came around, my mother convinced me to change my ways or be destroyed in '75. Well, I did just that. Married a JW whom I figured I would learn to love in "Paradise" just a few months away. Never came, but was "just a little late." I stayed in that marriage for 34 years. I became an elder during that time. Eventually they got around to deleting me as my adult daughter lived with us & there was no way she was going to study. My best friends were elders, knew the CO was looking for my head & never said a word. I was told I could appeal to HQ. Screw that. My whole attitude of course changed. The wife was now heavily addicted to pain medication & was having paranoid episodes. It was time to leave. I found the love of my life, told the ex & the elders I was leaving her. Got disfellowshipped & even with all that was looking to stay in. As I was well known, one on the committee told me they wanted to be sure I was made an example of. That did it. I read C of C in 3 days. Checked into JWfacts & was out in a week. I've been out 12 years. Had spent about 50 years in. I personally want to thank Frank Mullie for being the elder to push me out. If it wasn't for you Frank, I might still be in. How's that "Armageddon's just around the corner" working for you...... List of those I know dead from waiting: ex wife (drug overdose), ex father- in -law ( born in 1898 actually knew Rutherford), Frank's wife & son, John & Marceil Caister, John DiSanto, Bill & Marge Whelpton (in-laws), Manny Pederson (ex wife's uncle. Performed our wedding ceremony) and lastly my mother.
Yeah I gotta say 1975 was a memorable year.......
