  @ ambersun- I hear U...anger IS NOT strong enough of a word!

  I believe that ONE DAY IT WILL END!!! What I DEPLORE is the damning insistency that it was ALWAYS referred towitha time frame attached. My parents weren't fervent or concrete JWs. But, they practiced it, as though did many others. And yet, along the way....we lost my Dad in the summer of 2010. I'm telling you, he was angry, disappointed, and scared in the end. What int he world!!!!! He was only 66 and was dying....from cancer.

  UUUmmm.....we were supposed to be out of this by 1975. My parents were baptized in 1976 when "Jehovah was giving all these new-comers a chance". And the dates keep rolling.................

  I left the organization @ 4 years before Dad passed awawy due to being married to a crooked elder. Seeing the hypocrisy amongst many of the elders. I think they feel I'll come back seeing that my Dad has passed. No, I will not submit myself to another 25 years of sheer bullsh***!!!!!

  @happyexjw - Thanks so much. Let me clarify....my uncle passed away 25 years ago. I was a child. Now I'm a grown woman. Things like that can hurt a person seeing that that time has come and gone many times over. Of course, they preach this because it makes you so damned determined to welcome that person back...in 2 years.

  Also, I did change my personality. I needed to just to survive. My parents raised me to be meek and by nature I was EXTREMELY naieve, overly-humble and could NEVER see the the wrong in people. I was an ever optimist but not a realist. Being a JW really hurt me socially because I "turned the other cheek" a bit too damn much. I wasn't having problems w/worldy people. It was the crazy/insecure JWS!

  Ireally had to 'grow up". It didn't happen until I turned 30. It was like walking out of the darkest room. I started "making plans" on how to live MY life. The questions I would ask my worldly workmates (politics, education, just living...) were so embarassing to me. But, I couldn't ask another JW cuz they didn't know either AND how dare I ask such questions! This System is ending I my questions were of a worldly nature and mundane!

  Oh, yes! I had to change. I wanted to LIVE. Just simply live....Like get up on a Saturday morning and pour milk in my cereal and sit there and eat it and watch cartoons....at the age of 30....like a normal person, ya' know?

  FROM ILOVEBIRTHDAYS - Yes. I became a whole lot more outgoing, much more tolerant and less judgemental, and stopped being afraid of everything. I keep working on trying to not have to justify everything I do to people who don't need me to justify anything, but I haven't ditched that yet.

  Girl...No!!!!! He's going to the meetings looking all "forlorn" and "Oh, he's the poor brother who brings his kids to the hall all by his lonesome self." He luuuuuuuuvvvs the attention! Going to the assemblies all alone w/the kids and the whole 9 yards.

  Hell, as wives and mothers in this organization, you'd better have your butt in attendance and in field service! You're tired????? Soooooo, what's your point??!!!! Whew!!! And don't let hubby be an elder. Your life is HIS!!!!

  Oh, please believe me! He's living the 'double-life'! But,he attends the meetings faithfully and field service faithfully. So, I guess that negates the double-life.

  He talks about me behind my back like I'm a dirty-ass dog. I've been told how I am the "body of any Watchtower or lesson when it comes to apostate in the marriage" discussions. I really feel that why he HATES when I come to hear my daughter give a talk. He doesn't know what I'll say if someone makes an odd-ass comment while I'm there. I do know when I'M the topic of discussion and will nip it in the bud ON THE SPOT! He's NEVER supported my emotional being as a JW. I've learned to be hard due to this f***d up cult.

  Hell!!! I had JUST had my baby on a Sunday! These were just SOME the questions my husband (an elder at the time) had for me by the 4th day:

  - When will you start back to Field Service?

  - what makes you think you can't still get your pioneer hours just because you just had a baby? Many sisters do it!

  - you know you can just sit in the car w/the baby while we are parked in the bank parking lot. As people come out, why don't you just hand them a tract?

  - do you preach to ALL that are non-JW to keep up your time?

  ......and like a DUMB-ASS, I was out there on the 4th day!!!! Stitches and all!! Proving that we were the cute and well Jehovah Witness-oriented cute couple! Stupid as hell when I look back on time in my life!

  I truly look back and now understand when people say, "WTF"!!!!!!

  Things like that have made me look back and proves my point that this organization is a CULT. It needs TOTAL CONTROL before your mind can be educated elsewhere.
