Recent recollections from the regional convention.

short story long, i've been out for 6 months now, my family are studying with the witnesses and they believe that is the true path but sided with me when i was disfellowshipped, they made it very clear they were not going to shun me and now i'm taking steps to make them realize what this religion really is about, meanwhile, it made my mother happy to know i went to the regional convention in a city where i don't know any witnesses which made it easier for me, anyways.. during one of the talks one of the speakers mentioned that convention where rutherford changed the name of "bible students" to that of jehovah's witnesses, and he said that the even was broadcasted worldwide through the radio, none of this is news, however he said that at that hour of the day when the announcement was given, witnesses in japan were trying to get the radio signal fixed so they could hear the talks given by rutherford, basically he said they failed to fix the radio signal but "miraculously" the signal was ok during the announcement so witnesses in japan got to hear the announcement, broke in tears and then the signal was gone again.. now that i know how the organization conducts itself i know this story is pure nonsense but if we examine this and please correct me if i'm wrong the data given by the speaker proves the story to be false by itself.

first i remember that it wasn't until knorr sent missionaries to japan that witnesses began to appear in japan, i remember a video where lloyd barry speaks of missionaries arriving to japan in the 40's and he said there were only a handful of witnesses whereas the speaker at the convention mentions "how many brothers in japan gathered to hear the radio broadcast by rutherford" second, the speaker is part of the branch committee in mexico so he ought to know that what he was saying was not true at all.. anyways this is my first post.

i will try to do this regularly, and if someone is from mexico i'm up to meet anyone.

Smiddy, I don't remember posting anything 4 years ago, all I remember is writing a reply to get working links on some boe letters that is why I said this is my first post, back then I was still in, I kind of felt bad a few weeks afterwards, you know, thinking that I was really in god's organization and so on, but anyways I continued doing research I stumbled upon a thread about Raymond Franz and the rest is history.

Well theoldhippie there's no need for sarcasm, of course I know about WW2, the speaker however made it sound as if it this had happened before the war, I'm so sorry I didn't do my homework sir, I didn't even know there was a YB on Japan, I got baptized around the time the YB on Russia came out and once I started to realized what a terrible mistake I had made I stopped doing research on things that weren't worth my time such as history books from the organization, instead I went to those sources that showed what the organization was really about.

And well, I said I was going to post regularly but then again there's a world outside to be explored, things to learn, skills to practice, etc, at one point I was very eager to post my experience and other things online but I soon realized how there were many out there on forums just waiting for someone they could criticize, I've seen feuds, rivalry and things that frankly I thought I had left behind, I'm not saying everyone is like this but I definitely don't need the drama right now, I will come back from time to time and if I can contribute with something positive I will do it.

this is a collection of confidential letters from the watchtower society that were sent to the bodies of elders in the years 1981 through 2006. these are the letters that you were never meant to see or read.. there's all sorts of information in them ranging from the boring and mundian to instructions about how to handle child molesters.. many thanks to darth frosty and others (who i'm not sure can be named) who worked very hard and took risks to collect and scan the information.
