Michael Jackson is ....

is michael jackson disfellowshipped?.

an elder visited my witness mother earlier this week and told her, "he is definitely disfellowshipped?

" now it wouldn't surpise me but i've never seen this confirmed anywhere.

I was in the org when all that Michael Jackson stuff was going on. I remember my ex-husband who was an elder said that they received a letter from the society that said that Michael was to be treated like he was DF'd but because of backlash from the world they would not publically announce that he was DF'd. I really think that they were afraid of a lawsuit. Figure Michael sure has the money to give them a really hard time.

Does anyone remember his sister LaToya when she came out and said that her father had molested her for many years and her JW mother knew it and condoned it? Maybe Silent Lambs should get ahold of her.

A plague of locusts

now, when i grew up in the religion, i was taught that we were like a plague of locusts fullfiling prophescy.

well, where i live, i never see them.

they don't work my street, not in the last 5 years.

How long did you study prior to becoming a JW?

some questions, if they have been asked before, i have not seen the thread.. how long did you study with a witness, before you entered the jw .

religion, how long before being baptized?.

( i was raised in the "truth" and baptized at 16.).

I got baptized in three months, had no clue what I was getting involved with. Had not even finished the truth book. Think I only had a study until the 6th chapter, and of course, back then you couldn't count your time if your study got baptized, so I was dropped like a hot potato.

I guess for me there is some benefits of being DF'd for seven years. They have never been to my house..not one.

You know I was thinking the other day that when I was a JW I thought the elders were supposed to visit once a year if you were DF'd to see if you had a change of heart. Has that changed too? Just wondering.

Dear Shunned;
Welcome to the board. There is alot of healing in being able to talk to others that have similiar experiences that you have had. Also for myself it feels good to be able to talk to others that understand even the lingo that was used in all of our indoctrination.

Seems like this person obviously has done something against the JW doctrine. The only thing I can say..Isn't it interesting that is when they seek out ones that have left. And no matter what, you did the right thing, he probably had no one to turn to.

Myself I can relate to that. When I wrote a letter to the brothers telling them after many years living with an alcoholic elder I no longer wanted to be associated with an org that really didn't care. I had gone to them numerous occasions to ask for help with this. When I left with three children I had no one. My family are all JW's. I had no friends since I knew no one that was "in the world." You might have saved him more then you know.

Thanks for your kindness even though it seems hypocritical.

Who Mediates?

as most jws no longer have jesus as their mediator, how do they conclude their prayers?.

i only recently became aware of this change where jesus is mediator to just a select few.

Geeeee I was in the org for years I must have missed it. I thought I was a fairly intelligent person..after reading that alot of people think JW's have love IQ's maybe I fit. hahahah

Wow!!! I had never seen this site before. It is excellent. I learned all kinds of things that I did not know..things have changed since I left 7 years ago. It just reaffirms my decision to leave such a cruel and controlling religion.

Thank God for Friends

i've been df'd since last september.

i haven't heard from my ex-best friend in about 6 months.

so all of a sudden she emails me yesterday asking one simple question:.

Since the question is so stupid I would answer it in the same way.

Since the child is Satan's Spawn, my lawyer has advised me that in my state father's have rights. I really do not want an ugly custody battle, and he simply refuses to leave my house.
