I'm fairly certain they've been pre-warned against the persecution and lies, and not to watch apostate television. So I'd say close to none. -

With the scripture they use about the woman being raped and she is not sinning if she screams, Deut 22:23-24 I believe, I remember growing up being told that that scripture meant that if (and it was implied that it was very likely as all non-JW men were good-for-nothing evil rapists) I did not scream, whether or not it was because I was physically incapable due to fear was not the issue, but that if I did not scream it was not rape, it was consensual and I would be brought in front of a judicial committee for sinning.
My sister was raped in her late teens, date rape from what I was told, and my parents took that to mean that as she was on a consensual date with a worldly man when it happened that she consented to potentially having sex, and she put herself willingly in that situation, therefore it was not rape, and she was not allowed to move back home as she was unclean. They even went as far as to say that she would transmit disease to the family.
Oh the memories. If someone is still forward our accounts to Angus, I'd appreciate that being sent.

Welcome atacrossroads :)
Many hugs for you.
I was married to a active-but-not-super-fanatical JW, and I was not a believer but baptised and didn't do research as I was pretty good at doing what I was told, I was just miserable. I eventually started researching, including reading CoC etc and online, verified what I had always thought about the religion, expressed some views delicately to my husband, and he knew I had the CoC book even though I hid it.
He refused to talk about it, I stopped going to meetings, he would just say I was sick for months and no one really bothered me as I was not close to anyone in the congregation anyway, I kept my distance always and never made close friends.
Although he never seemed very devout, he would still refuse to talk about anything related to the religion that wasn't study for the meetings, and was very upset when I posted my DA letter (I did it more as a symbolic thing, not because I had to, and I wanted to make sure I didn't get home visits by elders). While I was at home he would look over my shoulder when I was on the computer to make sure I wasn't looking at apostate sites and wasn't chatting to my work friends about him. He wouldn't let my worldly work friends in the house, and if they dropped me off from work, or picked me up (I didn't have a car and car pooled sometimes) we had to talk outside and he refused to meet them.
We weren't close anyway, not sure there was ever love there (I married young dutifully to get some independence from my parents), so eventually after our problems escalated and he refused to go to counselling with me or on his own to try and talk about our different beliefs and how we could make it work together, I left him.
It was too hard for me to try and make it work if he wouldn't also try and make it work from his side. He didn't want the divorce, and made the property settlement as difficult as he could (we had a house that we both owned). But he didn't want to be with me either as an 'apostate'. So I feel that I had no choice but to leave, and all things considered since, it was by far the best decision I could have made for myself.

Royal Commission into Child Abuse - Australia
by biometrics insaw this in the paper today:.
the jehovah's witnesses church in australia is the latest religious group to come to the attention of the royal commission into institutional responses to child sexual abuse.. the child sex abuse royal commission will hold a public hearing into controversial christian group the jehovah's witnesses, next month.. the inquiry, to be held in sydney, will hear from people who were allegedly sexually abused within the jehovah's witnesses church in australia.. it will examine how the jehovah's witnesses church and its company, the watchtower bible and tract society of australia, responded to claims of child sexual abuse within the organisation.. a victorian inquiry into how churches handle child sex abuse claims has previously taken submissions from former jehovah's witnesses who alleged instances of paedophilia, sexual assault, blackmail and death threats.. the organisation has 64,000 active "disciples" in australia but has also been described as a cult.. jehovah's witnesses believe their church is the one true religion and all others are wrong.
they are among a number of religious groups which have been examined by the royal commission into institutional responses to child sexual abuse including the catholics, anglicans, australian christian churches and the salvation army.. the jehovah's witnesses australian headquarters has been contacted for comment about the inquiry which is scheduled to begin on july 27.. http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/nsw/jehovahs-witnesses-to-appear-before-sex-abuse-royal-commission-20150622-ghue73.html.

Not sure if the link has been shared already to the transcripts and the exhibits including witness statements. The transcripts are a fantastic read, they're hanging the JW witnesses out to dry. I am so happy this is finally happening.
