if any one has been taking note of my posts, it could be said that i often mention conversations i have had with dubbies.

in some ways not been dfed has allowed me to gain some real in sight into how they think and their justification for things.

the following is a conversation i just had with an ultra super dub relative, and to be honest i don't know weather i should be laughing or crying over it.. relative: the rc this year is going to be held in the assembly hall.

My sister is being harassed by the elders

sometime ago i wrote here in this forum about the case of my sister, who decided to stop attending the meetings because she realised that the watchtower society is an evil organization.

this happened more than one year ago.

i am not living in the same country of my sister, so i learn about her case when she calls me or when she write me through whatsapp.

Lol @ John Aquila ... Er, I don't think Peruvian police dismember people for money like in Mexico; different leagues. They'd much rather toss someone alive into the interior Amazon for a real life episode of Naked and Afraid.

But seriously, she should definitely file a police report for harassment. If need be, maybe a few neighbors who witnessed the bad yelling behavior could give statements in support. Then write a letter stating she's looking for a new congregation. [I'd write it in Quechua because I'm an asshole.]

Make a copy of the letter for the police to go into the complaint file, and one for the Branch.

Apparently, they missed the latest Peruvian Law where one cannot even cat call at women walking the streets? 12 yr punishments. Yelling at her in the street is jailable ... and who wants to go to a Peruvian prison?

So I clicked on the Mormon come-on advertisement to "Come chat about Jesus Christ"

so i clicked on the mormon come-on advertisement on the top, the right side and the bottom of the jwd page that invited me to "come chat about jesus christ".. i started a chat with brook and taiza and asked them why the subtitle of the book of mormon changed from "another gospel of jesus christ" to "another testament of jesus christ".. brooke told me it hadn't so i googled it and told them there's plenty of websites that refer to it that way and i had a very old copy with that subtitle on it.. so taiza says it's probably a copy by some break off group and not from them.. i told her the inside said from the "lds".

so they left the chat.. so i figured maybe there's a technical glitch and i shouldn't assume they just dropped me.. so i log on again and give my last name instead of my first name this time.. and hellen and catherine log into the channel.. i ask them again about the title change and they drop off the chat.. so i figured twice is very unlikely that they had a glitch, and i'm pretty sure they dropped me because they didn't like my question.. one more time, i'll give them one more try.. so i log on again, with my middle name this time.. brooke and jayne log on.. i type that i'd been chatting previously with brooke.. she types back that she's a different brooke.. so jayne starts asking if i read the book of mormon.. i say yes and i have a question about it.. so i ask my question about the "another gospel" to 'another testament" change.. she says that she does not recall ever hearing about that and what do i like about the book of mormon.. i then ask her about the "gospel" paul wrote about in corinthians.. she says it's the same as in the book of mormon.. i ask back that if the gospel is the "same" why call it another???

and i quote her galatians 1:8.. she says that it does not apply to the book of mormon since it is not different from the bible so therefore, it is not another good news.. but that is the subtitle of the book isn't it.. so she sends me a link to a two minute video by the lds telling of the finding of the tablets and the transcription from reformed egyptian to english by joseph smith.. i started questioning whether reformed egyptian was a real language.

If I were God (all proud about my kid's success) and had told everyone to go through him, take comfort in him, ask for things in his name ... and you completely ignored him; but not content with just you, you compel others to do the same.

I'd be one pissed off dad.

Oh, and meetings were soooo mind numbingly boring.

jacksonville, fl - the local newspaper had an article on the convention going on for the next two weekends.

while i could not find the article, i was able to find this slide show of this weekend's events.

the newspaper article was interesting as it discussed what a wonderful job they were doing cleaning the arena seats and bathrooms and everyone was enjoying their job.

Well, that's because JWs equate the Org with God. "If you leave the Org, you leave Jehovah". If you disagree, same thing. Yet who in their right mind would put up with all that negative brow beating?

The Org is the locked room with the electrified floor. The R&F is the dog. The Org constantly applies shock to the R&F who can't get out of the room. After months/years of being shocked, the R&F (still being shocked) won't leave the room, even if someone unlocks and opens the door.

They don't seem to get that some may leave because they simply don't like the WTBTS anymore.

You can't leave us, we love you! Creepy really. Kinda like a crazy abusive significant other.

Why using Jehovah for God's name is as good as using Yahweh

in another thread i wrote some notes about why using jehovah in english is as good as using yahweh.

i'm starting a discussion on this topic because it sounds quite ignorant to hear people talk of the monk who started using it in latin without really understanding why the monk did so.. the spanish dominican monk, raymundus martini, in 1270, didn't get hoodwinked by an old jewish superstition about pronouncing the divine name with the vowel points of another word.. 1. first the vowel points of adonay and jehovah cannot be the same for grammatical reasons.

you just can't use the same vowel points because some vowels aren't paired with some consonants in pronouncing hebrew words.

All Elders need to demand a college (continuing education) course on EEOC & basic abuse law with a level 1 psychology class (human behavior). Then 1 year mandatory ride a longs with their local police child abuse detectives.

They should not be allowed or responsible for rendering decisions on legal matters for which they have no accredited or real world training.
