2 Scriptures to De-Rail the Organization's Claim that their Child Abuse Claims are based on Scripture
by LAWHFol inmr.jackson was quite adamant, to his claim that the witness's policies are based on the scriptures.
if these scriptures have already been brought up, i apologize, but if not i feel that they are valuable.. 1. regarding the 2 witness rule :.
the witnesses use scriptures like deuteronomy 19:15 to support their adherence to the 2 witness rule this scripture clearly emphasizes the necessity of 2 or 3 witnesses, however there are reasonable exceptions.. one example is in deuteronomy 22:23 & 22:25. verse 23 says "if there is a betrothed virgin, and a man meets her in the city and lies with her,".

What does it mean to be inactive??
by DATA-DOG inwell, i sat through day 1 or the "imitate jesus" convention.
they released the new brochure for inactive ones.
while no tomo-esque rants took place, it seems that the official policy is that "inactivity" merits the death sentence.

It means you don't go out in Field Service (knocking on doors, reporting said efforts on a Time Slip, etc) or you likely do not attend all the meetings.
The world of JW is full of labels with double meanings.

Is Jackson embarrassed to be a JW?
by Doubting Bro ini listened to the majority of jackson's part one testimony and it seems apparent to me that he either:1) is embarrassed to be a jw or 2) doesn't really believe.
i've heard countless times from the platform and in print that we should be proud to be jws and take every opportunity to defend our beliefs.
yet, it seems jackson didn't even want to admit that he believed he was being directly used by jehovah to lead the congregation as his spokesman.

JW "Theocratic Warfare" is nothing but lying & lying & more lying. No biblical follower of Christ was a liar, nor practiced to deceive, except Judas Iscariot and the "wolves in sheep's clothing". Real brothers of Christ spoke their beliefs boldly even to their deaths.
Guy is simply a liar & a coward. He lies to the "flock" and he lied to appointed authorities. It's a blatant acknowledgement that he and his cohorts have no "spirit direction" from God. He's an asshole of a Peter; afraid of admitting knowing HIS voted on policies. He's not even going to feel bad about his lies, quite the opposite.

GB member Geoffrey Jackson is lying!
by Billy the Ex-Bethelite inokay, i know the royal commission hasn't started yet.
but i'm confident enough that he will be telling some whoppers.
so i thought i'd be the first to get a thread started for something that will begin... very soon now!.

Thinking about killing yourself? DONT!!!! God cares, your family cares, and we care about you. I think you should speak with a professional about it. Also, try and get into some outdoor activities and hobbies to keep yourself focused on living life happily. We must love ourselves first.
Pay no mind to the negative comments, some people here don't have the good sense to know when their comments are highly improper at best & at worst, detrimental. Don't get hung up on the negative.

New Congregation Position Soon? ELDERESS?
by 7Starz ini just listened to most of geoffrey jackson's royal commission testimony and i have to say i really enjoyed the multiple times he had to state he would get back to them and would research their questions.. the royal commission was asking if policy could be changed to have women serve on a committee to decide the case and then that bodies decision be brought to the elders to decide whether to show mercy or to disfellowship and individual.
three times the judge had to ask mr. jackson to answer his question.. it was amazing how jackson could not find a scripture to show his honor that women were prohibited to serve as elders.
he could only support that men are appointed as elders.. hmm... i've never been a member of the governing body with all their years of so called spiritual training, but even i remember deborah the prophetess, when the judge asked jackson if women could serve as a judge.. i was so hoping that the judge or mr. stewart would refer to deborah.

They'd be worse than the men at the onset because they'll be trying to prove they're just as stringent. Besides elders wives are the biggest gossip mongering trouble causers in most Congs. You would need rotation among all the female members for something like that to work. Or else you will have just created another small group of power abusing individuals. -

Is the two-witness rule really unreasonable?
by stillin ini'm picturing a situation in which a savvy 12 year old doesn't like the house rules that mom's new husband has put into place.
or something along that line.
i can certainly agree that protection of children is paramount, but who protects the real victim in those cases?

I don't know of any rapists or child molesters who waited around to have an audience and/or witnesses.
I think it's pure STUPIDITY in these circumstances.

Today it is as unreasonable as marrying your rapist. No ancient Hebrews around here following Mosaic Laws ... Besides ole Jezzy had two witnesses, and of course they were both liars. So, you know.
It's best to go straight to the police and let the law (forensics, dna, etc) do its job. Don't have your children farting around with religious types for comfort. They can read you scriptures AFTER the STD exams and charges are filed.
