EXACTLY Why JW's Are NOT Christian
by Perry ina lot of people, ex-jws, believers and unbelievers alike, think that jw's are just a somewhat kooky brand of christianity.
is it possible to "try and follow jesus" and not be christian?
what exactly makes someone a christian?

Yuk to this thread! Why do crazy religious types always want to say they are right and everyone else is wrong? I had enough of that crap already. Sounds like someone is looking for new church members ...
Anyhow, JWs problem stems from not understanding that the "other sheep" to whom Jesus referred were the Gentiles. These too he had to bring into his "fold". He didn't say a dayum thing about them having differing futures.

What is the most bizarre counsel you received as a JW, from a JW?
by Funchback inthere were many addressed to me.
for example, i once had a sister tell me i was gambling because i liked playing skill crane (the machine where you have to try to pick up prizes like stuffed animals) at the arcade.
i then fired back a her: "you saw the r-rated movie 'backdraft.

Seriously? Ankle bracelets on women?
Lol!!! So he considers them Queenly, royal, yes? Jezebel was a Queen (albeit an evil one), not a prostitute. Now Rahab, King David's great gramps & Christ's ancestress, was a prostitute. Maybe he meant to say Rahab.
Sounds like a dipshlt named Prouton. From the ASSembly platform he went on a rant about sisters wearing ankle bracelets concluding with this bit of asswiperery, "Whenever I see a sister with an ankle bracelet my first thought is 'tinkle, tinkle, here comes Jezebel! -

EndofMysteries, I suppose full online would work if JWs worldwide had Internet service and printers. I guess it could be done at KH if they budget for ink cartridges and paper. -

Any thoughts on the real reasons for droppng the 'school"
by sparrowdown inmy thoughts are.
1. they want to avoid being made to comply with any laws that come with anything classed as a "school" especially a school with children enrolled.. 2. the mid-week meeting has been dying in the ass for years and needs a revival.
i predict happy -clappy-sing-a-longs to be included in the program.. anyone else have any thoughts ??

Cost cutting. One less meeting = less electricity consumption. Whenever the WTBTS cuts something, it's about money not people. -

Calm Down Everybody, We Will Know Soon Enough
by OnTheWayOut inseriously, they will change the midweek meeting ever so slightly.
it is just repackaging of the same old stuff.seriously, we don't know if construction is halted for days, weeks, months, forever, or what.. we don't know if new kingdom halls will still go up, old kingdom halls will be closed and sold.
they have laid off bethelites before and they will lay them off some more.

Hmmm. The reason for all the recent 'OBEY us without question' articles is starting to make sense. I smell some drastic changes coming ... -

E-Mail, Just recived. About Bethell adjustments.
by DwainBowman ini just read an email from a friend, and she shared some very interesting emails from her friends about information on changes now happening at the bethels around the world.
here is the email: .
---------------------------------thanks sally, jesus is directing the org and all decisions and instructions to us may not seem practical from now on, neither will we understand the reasonings behind many of the changes that the organization makes.

The horror of no waiters! Lol! Washing your own clothes, cleaning your own room, and it sounds like they'll be making their own breakfast too. Then some will be getting the boot to either return to mommy and daddy or go and get a menial job. No more special pioneers.
Cost cutting. Once they get around to booting missionaries, they'll probably sell the branch offices. They'll just say the GT is at hand or some such.
What's sad is that my mom has a disaster prep bag put together but it isn't for a disaster. She has it in case she is "told to run". Run to where, who knows. She's up in years and I'm not sure where she'll be bugging off to without being able to refill her medications.

World Wide Construction comes to a Shuddering Halt - Jehovah's Blessing has Evidently been Suspended!
by Slidin Fast inthe chelmsford project in the uk has already come to a halt and every one has been sent home.
the bethel family in london is to be cut by several hundred.
my impression is that most ambitious youngster in the org dream of being involved with the building program.

Sorry about that "dislike" Lee Elder, I touched the wrong thing. Tablets are a pain for small links. -

Pope praises the Wild Beast (UN)
by Quarterback inthe pope stated at his un address that, "if it wasn't for the un's work on the world's conflicts, the world would be alot worse".
i just wonder how that statement will be taken in jw land.

Did their peacekeepers stop running away when bullets start flying about? Hope so. If not for the UN genocidal crimes and such committed by world leaders would not get investigated.
Not certain what the big deal is among JWs and the picture. Certainly they've seen the pope visit other world leaders and stand next to them. Dali Lama does it too. I guess it only matters if he stands around with a US President? I'm surprised WTBTS didn't lose its mind over John Paul popping over to the US 7 times ... cause, well, the number 7.

What's the craziest thing someone INFORMED on you about?
by Londo111 inthe culture of jws as encouraged by the watchtower is one of informing on one another, reporting to either the elders or ones designated head.
whats the wackiest thing that someone reported on you?
im not talking about a black-and-white watchtower rule that would land you in a judicial committee, but some judgmental nonsense that someone thought they should turn you in about?.

It's kinda like living in Nazi Germany where if you didn't eat fish on Friday a neighbor would rat you out. Then the gestapo would show up to your house and question your loyalty.
