as one of jehovah's witnesses for over 40 years, i was always taught that we were the only ones who went door to door, preached world wide, built our own buildings and so on.. however in the past year living in the south, not 1 jw has knocked on my door.
yet 4 various people from local churches have.. tonight i meet a young man who is preaching with a group in china (baptist) a block away i watched a congregation build their own church.. i could go on all night with the thing i have found to be un true with the org.. glad i'm out.
Ya gotta go to college to be a doctor or nurse. Left to JWs, third worlders would be lucky to find a shaman to shake some smoky palm leaves over them.
Mormons only "preach" for two years. Yeah, and Christ only preached for three years ... and didn't begin until he was 30.
I always kinda envied other churches true charitable works while embarrassed by our giving rocks to people who needed bread. Hungry? Here, take this mag.

to think of all the people that died waiting for the "real life" that is not coming is actually very sad and depressing.

last month, i had the privilege of traveling to jamaica with a study abroad group from my community college.
while there, we went to a place called my father's house in which severely disabled children lived when they had no one else to take care of them.
as part of their day, they hold worship in a small, outdoor meeting place.
And lest we not forget that the Pharisees ran schools. ie Rabbi, or teacher. Saul/Paul studied under the most famous of all, even to this day. (Big on the Talmud/ oral traditions.) So many rules, ridiculous rules to the point they placed a heavy burden on the people and made the Torah worthless.
WTBTS is similar. There are sufficient rules in the Bible that no one needs their added shit. GB personal likes and dislikes should be their own private problem.
observing our local unemployed pioneers and how long they take to get to their first or next call, usually taking the longest route to get to one they know won't be there anyway.

There is no scripture. It's one of those modern man made WT rulz. Kinda like having people wash up to their elbows when a basic hand wash would suffice. You see, the Apostles didn't work for a book factory, therefore they had no need to punch time cards.
As a pioneer, my time was voluntary & volunteers don't punch time cards. I honestly didn't care if I made the time or not.
Most of the pioneers would drag out their day because they knew the time factor was an exercise in futility and quite redundant. Why would a religion require "quotas"?

Corporations settle when they want to diminish the amount of bad publicity. WTBTS is like any other big corporation.
The payment is an admission that wrongdoing occurred. (Just like the RCC)
i saw an instagram post showing a short clip of a talk being given in one of our southern states.
the talk clip showed speaker making the statement, "jehovah doesn't want anyone to know satans real name, jehovah hates satan so much, he doesn't even want his name mentioned" .

as with the scribes and pharisees, there are a number of unwritten rules that witnesses are supposed to follow.
here's a couple : "worldly" kids in society depictions are shown quite often wearing their baseball caps backwards.
jehovah's witness youths would not want to imitate that "look".
