I don't believe we are descendants of monkeys because with the right pepper sauce, monkey meat & brains tastes great! So soft, so sweet and creamy.

JW message becoming more and more relevant
by lsw1961 inmans requirements are limited which can be satisfied with a little and tension-free endeavor..
however man attempts not only to collect but also to grab and amass everything to the excess.
somehow he feels that he can be happy only when he has in abundance whereas others have nothingwhich seems to be the thread that runs throughout the history.

When you think about it, that whole rapy thing wasn't without purpose.
We have the custom of carrying a new bride across the "threshold" of a house or some such dwelling. That actually comes from Romulus getting wives for his men. They killed the men of surrounding Italian tribes and carried off the women to be their wives; rape victims kicking and screaming. They had to drag and carry them into their houses. Yet, this custom which comes from mass rape is looked upon favorably today by Western societies.
Ancient people, ancient times.
Now, in the Bible if you raped someone, basically soiling her, you had to marry and take care of her. Gross, I know. But you couldn't run around like the Scandinavians just pillaging and raping. It comes from that whole Tribe of Benjamin incident. However, your raping activity was stopped there because if you rape another, you've committed adultery and that was punishable by death. In the ancient Middle East the rocks they used to bash your head in weren't small. That's what you get.
It's best not to rape.

None of us care care what Euros think. It's a warped sense of thinking. It's greed based. Based on useless " pet" rocks the rest of us don't give fa la la about. Euros took a community based Middle Eastern religion of peace and turned it into shiite based on their own warped concepts of GREED. -

Who or What is the Holy Spirit?
by FusionTheism intradition within christianity has long been that any time the phrases holy spirit, holy ghost, or spirit of godare used in the bible (especially in the new testament), it always refers to the mysterious third divine person of the trinity, who is fully god, co-equal to the father and son, yet somehow distinct.. i want to present a simplified alternative view: let the context determine the meaning!.
(one thing to keep in mind is that the meaning of the bible words used for spirit basically is unseen force or invisible presence.).
the holy spirit as the mind and personality of god.

Meh, crazyguy. Egyptian beliefs are ripoffs of Assyrian beliefs or Syriac (Aramaic) beliefs which is where Abraham came from. So no, Abrahamic religion isn't a ripoff of Egypt. Quite the opposite. -

I don't care what anyone else believes and I don't belittle them for it. We each must find and cultivate the beliefs that fit us individually and not try and FORCE them on others.
Life is too short to get high blood pressure worrying about the beliefs of those who don't pay your bills. I'll believe what I want, if YOU don't wish to believe the same, it's fine with me.
Btw, I grew up in a rain forest and monkey tastes great!

The Appeal and Draw of the Watchtower
by Saved_JW inwhen i first left the watchtower organization in 2008, a flood of emotions came back to me.
betrayal, anger, resentment, deep depression from the relationships lost.
emotions seemed to guide my viewpoint of others as well.

1. Resurrection of family
2. You're special for being with us
3. You're superior to everyone else
4. You have knowledge that no one else has
5. You have cut the "world" off because you're better than THEM
If God so LOVED the "world" ..... what are you doing hating what God loved enough to redeem with his own Son's blood?

Saddest thing about being DFd
by kairos ini always enjoyed being kind.
when someone genuinely needed a hand or what not, it felt good to help family or friends.. i don't really miss them anymore.
i faded over two years ago, so they long ago shunned me.i think about them less and less and have even forgotten some names.i did enjoy some of the friendships and the association.

I find the whole "disfellowshipping" thing odd. Here's why.
Satan, the liar, and the very accuser of God Almighty, is given audience before God to irritate Job. Kill his kids, etc. Later, he tempts Christ, and Christ speaks to him without condemnation. Now this guy is a pure POS, but everyone heavenly is still talking to him and his cohorts.
When you think about it, who are we as humans to stop talking to someone we disagree with on trivial matters when Angelic forces, to include the Almighty himself, have not done the same with the most rotten evil asshole in the universe?
Seriously, THINK about it.

I'm going to go with a "what" and not a "who". (For only Horton Hears a Who!)
Now, it may be because I'm a bit tipsy, but I figure since Angelic beings appear to be pure energy creatures (see transformation accounts) the spirit of God must be some type of dynamic energy source ... kinda similar to "the force" of Star Wars. Once received, it has to be harnessed and cultivated by the recipient's faith in its presence.
You can also 'grieve' the Spirit. (Interesting human quality applied here). Similar to Luke Skywalker telling Yoda, "I can't believe it", when Yoda lifted the X-Wing out of the swamp water. Yoda replies, "And that's why you fail".
"If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, move, and it will move." ..... "You of little faith why did you doubt?" ( see the walking on water incident). That should ring some bells.
Star Wars was a play on religion in case you hadn't noticed. A very very insightful one at that.
