Half of the cong was dancing last night

so went to the meeting last night.

i had not been to one since before the holiday break (3 weeks ago).

besides, it was our first meeting in the new format.

That's good to hear. Singing praises is supposed to be joyous not melancholy like your at a friggin funeral.

No one was ever happy because the entire environment was constantly depressing, including that sad sad organ (funeral) music.

The problem with JWs is they are not searching for "truth" because they claim to have already found it. For them the truth was just a lost set of keys now laying on the table. However, their keys keep changing.

Is the term "worldly" outdated?

yesterday i had to listen to the co from a spanish congregation on the phone.

he said the fds has been gradually moving away from the word "worldly" and teaching jws not to use the term anymore.

has anyone heard this in their congregation or heard the term "non-believers" used before?

Probably changing it because it's used as an insult in JWism. JWs hate "the world" while God loved "the world" enough to let his son be sacrificed for it.

And who are JWs to call anyone who believes in Christ an unbeliever? No clue whatsoever of the point of the entire Bible or what the Apostles were charged with preaching.

2 billion majority dirt poor people is such a drag for corporations. Their only "market value" is their labor. Children there don't have any ice cream money to fork over to WTBTS.

I never understood field service...

it was always boring, and i was afraid that i was gonna get attacked by a dog.

i actually almost got attacked by a rottweiler once.

i didnt get paid for it, nobody listened to us, i actually had guys make passes at me while i was out doing street corner, i was always afraid i would get grouped and raped.

You go out in FS because Rutherford was a (door to door) book salesman and that's how he paid for college. He didn't know how to do anything else and he needed to make money.

The 70 Jesus sent out were all male. There is only one account of him doing so. The rest who went out and about did so because not many knew about Christ; their sole purpose was to tell everyone about him.

FS is irrelevant in most countries today because people already know who Jesus is and what he did. They're waiting around for his second coming too.

hes the coordinator of the body of elders in his congregation so i suppose he does know something of whats going on at the wt.

We gotta try to remember, the entire JW sect was based on the foundation that Russell, Rutherford, etc could for tell the "rapture". They couldn't then and they can't now ... but they keep trying. Today it's simply 'SOON'!!! Like any other Adventist sect, it tries to apply a literal interpretation of themselves to every darn thing in the Bible. Sometimes The 24 is not a group one can join or attest to oneself; it would then become The 25 ...

It's one of the things that used to get on my nerves. This "class", that "class" bla bla bla. Instead of uniting as a brotherhood, they're always separating like a clergy/laity, upper class/lower class, lord/servant type deal.
