Whatever "spirit" the WT has it sure does make an awful lot of errors.

The Ray Franz Saga
by snugglebunny ini'm just curious as to how it all happened.. to explain.
many years back, before ex-jw websites, i called on a local lady in order to design an extension to her already enormous house.
she was a young, voluptuous gal, married to a much older local business man who spared little expense in order to give his young wife whatever her heart desired.. we chatted for ages.

Help needed: transgender people and other unclear topics
by TeaBiscuit infirst of all, i am not quite sure whether this is the right place to ask my questions.
if this is not really appropriate, please tell me in advance, but i really did not know who to turn to, so i thought why not ask the internet... now, i know many of you are apostates and i'm not really looking for "leave it all behind you" answers, but really for experiences, thoughts and ideas... as well as maybe some verses if you can think of any.. anyway, first things first.
since this is very anonymous and i'd like to keep it that way, i will not give you my name, but still, i think some background info might be helpful.

TeaBiscuit,
I also giggle at fundamentalists trying to use the bible against cloning. No scriptures for or against it.
There's that whole how Eve was made "problem" too. If she was made from Adams rib, she's a feminine clone of him.
But I digress .... just chit chattering.

What??!!!?? No celebration for the son who was dead and now has humbly returned? You mean they jumped on him like a pack of wolves?
They went looking for that lost sheep just to eat him??? How special. How typical!
He's much better off without such unmerciful people.

RUSSIA: Jehovah's Witnesses face possible liquidation
by AndersonsInfo inhttp://www.forum18.org/archive.php?article_id=2181.
24 may 2016. russia: jehovah's witnesses face possible liquidation.
by victoria arnold, forum 18. if prosecutors proceed with their threat to liquidate the jehovah's witness headquarters near st petersburg, thousands of local congregations across russia could also face prohibition of their activities and individuals could be vulnerable to criminal charges for expressing their beliefs, forum 18 notes.. the jehovah's witnesses' principal body in russia is under threat of dissolution as an "extremist" organisation after the deadline in an official warning from the general prosecutor's office expired on 10 may, forum 18 notes.

I can't agree with Russia from a human rights perspective. With poor treatment of gays and possibly jws, it's a sign that the orthodoxy is taking over. The last time they were in charge there were pogroms against the Jews who were labeled "troublemakers". Sure jws are a PITA but banning religious groups which are not subversive is a step in the wrong direction for any Country.

Baptized niece crowned prom queen. Could her dad loose his MS appt?
by StarTrekAngel inso my niece (not thru my brother but rather my wife) had been talking about going to her prom.
the family had privately been somewhat doubtful that she would be allowed to go.
the problem was that they kept promising she would be allowed but history has shown us that her parents tend to get her excited about things and then drop the denial on her at the last minute.

Proms are supervised. Supervised by the same people you send your kids to school to learn from everyday. Proms dont present danger and the attendees are still the school responsibility.
Any danger is from leaving the prom and going to other parties and such. If you're not doing those things then no big deal.
Problem with the org is it sees loose crotches everywhere and it's demented overly sexed way of thinking is constantly projected onto it's membership. It's akin to some mullah saying women should not eat bananas because of HIS own sexually warped thoughts. That's how you get prohibitions about tight pants ... someone's own personal demented thinking projected onto everyone else.

Welcome!
And to answer your question: Whatever the GB says. No scriptures needed since there aren't any to address trannys. There isn't anything to address heirmorphadites either.
They will however throw in some Mosaic Law stuff which of course isnt binding on Christians. Fundamentalist groups are similar in that respect. JWS are highly fundamental to the point they tell you what you can and can't wear at all times. Nothing is left to your conscience or discernment.
Be certain to seriously investigate them as you would any other group you may wish to join.
On a side note, I had to laugh at the whole artificial insemination / surrogacy stuff. I mean really, what's that ENTIRE Jesus thing going on with Mary about ....??!!!??? An engaged artificially inseminated surrogate mom. Lol! Then there's that whole bonk your dead brothers wife because he died without any heirs thing.

A question for NEWBIES , especially if you would have died for your beliefs , and / or if you have been a long time in the religion .
by smiddy ini`m just curious as to how you came across this site or any other "apostate" site for that matter especially now when the internet on the one hand is so demonized when it comes to the subject of jehovah`s witnesses , except of course for jw.org ,.
was it by accident ?
somebody has mentioned it to you ?

I browsed here.
I'm from back in the early home computer days, real floppy disks, c prompts, and no such thing as a mouse or user interface. My father bought a Zenith home build kit that we kids helped put together. (Looked like today's mainframes). Dad taught us how to write programs in Basic and find stuff. Years go by and I'm a computer nerd. Along comes Compuserve. The first thing I put to the c-prompt was ... you guessed it.
Back then only 1 text file came back and it was some portion of a Study in the Scriptures. I read it and thought, wtf!!!??? I concluded it was some sort of test file as online storage didn't exist and files were kept on individual computers and had to be transferred. *One file of note was a request for investment into a new start up Company. For 4k, you could be an investor in a new software concept called .... Windows: Microsoft.
Several years later, UI, mice, Win3.1, and Apple. I'm in college with a computer related minor and here comes baud modems, online servers, and the Internet.
No one ever said anything to me about my computer interests since I was the one always fixing theirs or showing them how to use some software. Plus a GB member gave me a Bethel app due to my knowledge of computer publication design and programming abilities. And this was in the 1980s.
And that's the rest of the story. In to the new fangled search engine goes ... you guessed it. Found Free Minds, Lambs, active JW, and other sites. I found this one maybe 15 years ago?

Another generation....
by joey jojo init has been 21 years since the 1995 article that pretty much buried the idea of the '1914 generation'.. remember those guys?
the ones born in 1914 that would still be alive when the end of the system arrived.. i'm glad i'm old enough to remember going from door to door, preaching this belief.
the reason i say that is because i have a lot of 'still in' jw friends and family.

Lol!!! Peter was addressing the naysayers making fun of real Christians being able to speak in the languages of the many visitors after receiving the Holy Spirit at Pentacost. It was for right then and right there where it was being fulfilled.
The last days he was talking about were those of his time.
As of yet, no JW/GB has prophesied anything correct, ever. Ever!
So how many people on earth had never heard of Jesus Christ by the 1800s??? Get real, the "preaching work" and the Good News of Christ was known worldwide for Centuries before the US existed. Russell and everyone else was waiting for the "rapture". They already knew who Jesus Christ was and what he offers.

nonjw married to a jw, video by Critical Thinker - excellent!
by nonjwspouse ini just came across this today.
it is a recent addition to the channel.
it accurately describes the troubles of a non-aware, non-jw marrying a disfellowshipped jw who then turns around and feels the need to become reinstated.

Weird Wording - The Authority of the Watch Tower Society
by berrygerry inso, while pulling up old articles on the baptism post, and the necessity of this step, i see this strange sentence:.
neither the watch tower society nor any human today can lessen the force of that indication of god’s will.
(wt jan 15, 1971, page 64).. so, are there then other scriptural areas that the watch tower society can lessen god's will?.

That's written before the changed the dunking statement from "Holy Spirit" to "God's spirit directed organization".
(Never mind what God's stated will was on the matter.)
Watch the use of "indication"; it's slick.
