  What were the Bible Students expecting in 1914, after all?

  skimming through old watch towers, i encountered this statements on the 1914 january 1st edition of the watch tower (vol.

  xxxv, p.5373), in the article "views from the watchtower":.

  "so far as our judgement goes, the year 1914 is the last of what the bible terms "gentile times" [...] the end of their "times" marks the date for the beginning of messias' kingdom, which the bible declares is to be ushered in with a great time of trouble, just such as we see impending.

  To answer your question, Armegeddon. Definitely not any enthronements. That supposedly happened in the 1800s.

  It's an adventist rapture based group thing. They were're expecting God to "take them home" ... erroneously and stupidly.

  If you go by the Bible, it says God does things in his time not anyone else's. The date is unknown. Not to mention that theives don't let anyone know exactly when they are coming (unless they seriously suck as thieves).

  As so called Christans, that's what JWS get for calling Jesus a liar when he said no one knows the date. (May as well call him Satan).

  How do you deal with depression?

  i'm currently going through a bout of depression and my eating disorder has gotten worse.

  ever since my parents actually told me that they are going to kick me out when i turn 18 i've felt kind of hopeless about my life.

  my parents won't take me to the doctor because the psychiatrists won't have my "best interests" aka jw crap in mind, because really that's the root of all my problems.. i'm wondering if any of you guys have any advice with dealing with depression?

  Are there any YMCAs nearby? Youth Counseling centers? If need be quietly contact the local police child abuse detectives and see what types of free youth counseling contacts they may have. Quietly, mind you.

  recently susie, one of my co-workers mentioned that her husband's family were all jws.

  the family converted after susie's husband left home, so he never joined the jws, nor does he intend to.

  anyway another co-worker asked her: "what do the jws believe?".

  No one at work ... No one in a Kingdom Hall either.

  What people have said always begins with a negative:

  No holidays

  No flag salute

  No blood

  No military service

  No charity

  "No" this or "no" that. The religious sect of the "no". Other than that people don't know or tend to care.

  mark sanderson gives a talk regarding his visit to belgium for the memorial this year and was travelling from korea to munich to brussels, belgium on the day of the belgium terrorist attacks.he cannot wipe the smirk on his face as he relates his experience, with no regard whatsoever of all those unfortunately affected by the attacks.

  in fact, he personally found god's hand affecting him personally, allowing him to attend the memorial as planned and a kh dedication.he is that privileged during his flight travels that internet was available to him, enabling him to catch up on current news and to contact branch's.

  i’ve been reading it for a few of years off and on, but have been a little too ... maybe ... timid to join.

  i left the watchtower organization almost 20 years ago but never abandoned my faith and belief in god.

  i knew the gb/organization didn’t represent god, so when i lost my faith in them, i managed to keep my faith in an all wise benevolent creator.
