i have been hearing and reading on websites about some "new light" jws are saying concerning the faithful and discreet slave class.

it sounds like the same information they have been saying for years.

i was always taught the faithful and discreet slave class is the annoited governing body members dispensing food at the proper time for the non annoited jws.

Once again 00DAD, you are right on the mark with this comment. I'll tell you what bothers me. How can these leaders continue to propagate this sham of a religion. The GB members should feel shame for their mis-representation of the Bible over the decades. Most of the original leaders are dead. In time, the current GB will die. Will this religion continue? Time will tell. In the meantime, many more JWs are waking up because of having access to the internet (and find sites like this and JWFACTS).

First [brief] conversation w/elder for years

in my area, i am labeled an 'active apostate', among other things i am sure.

i live in a very small town, and bump into elders who hate me beyond words.

if they could, i am sure they would gladly stone me before the entire villiage while chanting 'apostate, apostate.'.

People forget that prior to 1980, JWs who left the organization could do so WITHOUT being treated as a DF'd person. From 1980 and on-ward they were to be treated as a DF'd person. Think about how this has effected JWs thinking and reasoning. When someone leaves this religion MOST - if not all - JWs also draw the conclusion that the reason the person is leaving is BECAUSE they sinned and want to continue to live a life of sin.

However, the truth is that so many JWs leave the religion for the SAME reason they left pre-1980. It's because they could no longer in good conscience stay in a religion that is touted as "the truth" when they no longer believe that. And it's that simple! Of course, after the great apostasy of 1980, the WTS had to invent a rule that would prevent these exJWs from associating and possibly spreading what they have learned that lead them to the belief that the JW religion is just another religion [and NOT "the Truth"]- nothing special!

Nice analysis Splash! - I appreciate what you did. Sometimes I find it painful to have to read their sometimes intentionally vague explanations - but like you said, '"do they ever" spell it out in plain language?' [LOL]. If they would only write it out like they do for the various ways you can donate money to them, or how to book a room in a hotel for the D.C. and other mundane policies like that, you wouldn't have to guess whether you are reading and understanding their explanations in the manner it was intended to be understood.

If your analysis is correct - and it appears to me it is - the JWs are going to have to trash that Bethel lingo about when an anointed dies and is buried. Remember this one: "they're being placed in their launching pad!" [based on being changed in 'a twinkling of an eye']. Goodness, this religion has come up with so much crap over the decades! It's really sad. Leaves me wondering, "when are the vast majority of JWs going to wake up?!?!"

It has been pointed out many times that the WTS looks for scriptures to support their theology/view/understanding and this forum post is just another example of how much trouble is caused by forcing certain scriptures to mean one thing, only to have it come back in the future and bite you in the rear! (If this happened only once or twice, it may be excusable, but this is a common thread of the entire history of this religion - which by the way boldly calls itself “the truth”. That contradiction is why I call this religion both a hoax and a scam! It doesn't matter how sincere the WTS leaders may appear either, even the WTS says this about Christendom - 'sincerity alone is not a sign that they have the truth or are under God's protection'.)

You know konceptual99, YOU raised an interesting point with me [and excuse me for injecting this observation]. I used to have difficulty explaining some things as a JW. Now I know why. The WTS has built a VERY confusing religion based on a plethora of teachings that go BEYOND the things written, speculation, and pure [man-made] interpretation of what this and that scripture means.

For some JWs, that proves to them why they need the WTS leaders, because on their own they could never keep all of this stuff straight. But, the truth is, the WTS leaders themselves have a record of changing teachings that only end up causing MORE questions. The details of their teachings are more complicated and entangled than JWs realize! It also fits the expression, when you tell one lie you usually have to tell another and another... getting to the point that you can't even remember all the lies that you've told.

For so many JWs, the complicated [and even contradictory] nature of some teachings turned out to be a RED flag. The "truth" shouldn't be so complicated - that is, if it's REALLY the truth. (I honestly don't know how the GB can live with themselves - it takes a lot of self-delusion to calm one's conscience, something Ray Franz couldn't ignore...his own respect for what his conscience was telling him caused him to take action and expose the religion that he once loved [when he was under the spell of the WTS.])

Excuse me, I should have worded that in WTS loaded language: "The EVIDENCE and FACTS indicate that the Governing Body have always been anointed." - Any old WTS literature.

"I have just this minute had a brother from the congregation here and he told me that the eight members of the governing body are annointed. True? False? tell me, I cant believe that they can claim that given their ages."

YES! This has always been the case, according to their own [made-up] teachings.

If you look at some of the WTS quotes [above] about the description of who is the Faithful and Discreet Slave, it’s very bothersome that they have used expressions like, “The evidence points to the following conclusion blah-blah-blah…”, “The facts indicate blah-blah-blah”, “Witnesses of Jehovah understand that blah-blah-blah…”, etc.

Is it any wonder why so many JWs have lost credibility in this organization’s leaders? I mean the WTS leaders throw around expressions like “The FACTS indicate…” and “The EVIDENCE points to…” as a way of adding weight to what they are saying – what facts, what evidence?!?! However, their literature is littered with these unsubstantiated and exaggerated claims and thus the use of these terms is fraudulent!

It’s been said a million times already: “The WTS literature is the WTS's worse enemy!” That’s why when it comes to religion [and other things as well], I live by this observation, “Fool me once, shame on YOU, fool me twice, shame on ME!

Often times, you’ll hear JWs (and the WTS leaders through talks and publications) urge [or even make fun of] apostates to “move on”.

All I can say is thank god that many of you haven’t. Yes, you’ve started new lives, but you’ve stuck around [long enough] to help ensure that many more JWs [and future JW prospects] can read your valued input, views and JW experiences to help expose this religion as the hoax that it is! (btw: It’s a very rare thing to come across someone who was never a JW to be able to expose this religion in an authoritative/knowledgeable manner that so many of you do! No wonder the WTS leaders would "urge" apostates to "move on"!!!)

“Unless you're about 100 years old, this is what you've been taught up until three months ago about who would comprise the "Faithful and Discreet Slave" (FDS): "all of the anointed ones living on earth at any given time constitute 'the faithful and discreet slave' that Jesus said would provide timely 'food' for his domestics."- w07 11/1 p. 30 par. 12

Then [00DAD] you allude to when the so-called new light was released and how – which is very strange. Finally , you summed it up with the next comment and may I say, "YOU REALLY HIT IT OUT OF THE PARK with this comment":

[00DAD] “ Remember, these are the same guys that brought you the wonderfully confusing "Overlapping Generation" explanation for Jesus great prophecy in Matthew 24:34.”

Indeed, the current Governing Body is really out there on so many fronts, but it’s their new teachings (i.e. "overlapping generation", "GB ONLY is now the FDS"), that really raise an eye-brow! I expect more of this in the future. I just feel sorry for the brain-washed JW who is far too busy to really understand the significance of these changes as well as those JWs who refuse to question their leader's wacky and crazy ideas!

For me, it really cements the fact that this organization was man-made and is man-ruled today. The whole premise of the religion is a hoax on a grand scale - I mean it has taken people in world-wide! The internet is going to expose these people for what they are - frauds, complete frauds!
