Punk:
I tried to order your book but get the message "This title is not available to you". Any idea why?
in march of 2014, i was a very active jw, a ministerial servant, gave a public talk, was an attendant for the memorial, and one of 4 cleaning captains for an international convention of 40,000+ attendees.
so what woke me up?
an innocent comment from a co-worker about the candice conti court case rang a bell that could not be unrung.

what's with all this new kingdom hall building?
just watched jw broadcasting about their master plan for building new kingdom halls.
sounds like a big deal.
Toes:
Agreed. That was exactly my point.
what were *your favorite *books in the organization?.
out of all of those books, i liked "mankind's search for god.
" however, it appears to me that this book is incredibly obscure and no one recalls studying it during the old book study format.
atheists, deists, or believer.....basic philosophic ground .
either good exist, or has never been, or is dead.
those are he the three basic premises that we all humans must take a stand to.

so, i have recently been delving in buddhism and i must say it all makes sense!
like, the philosophies and ideas are what i've always believed but could never put a name to.
for example, they don't believe in god, they teach acceptance of all faiths, that peace can be achieved - not by changing other people - but by changing yourself, that everyone has goodness in themselves, that happiness can be gained internally (not externally as a gift from god), and that life is temporary so we should enjoy it!
At least they're ahead of the Borg. They are now allowing ladies to become lamas. The philosophy for living your life has its benefits as many religious beliefs/ideologies do. But as Cofty said, it's still nonsense as far as beliefe goes.
I don't see why you cannot live by your own common sense virtues without the need of someone else's doctrine or philosophy.

just wanted to post here real quick, as many have joked about it.
we had an announcement in our cong last week about the upcoming one day assembly.
the title of the assembly is "imitate jehovah".
1) demand parents sacrifice their children
2) kill anyone that commits immorality
3) kill all homosexuals
4) kill all non believers
5) demand the amputatation of the hands that commit anything regarded as a sin
6) murder all the first born of those who enslave your followers
7) drown every living creature if they aren't compliant
8) have your own son tortured and crucified and then demand everyone worship you through him or face death in all sorts of imaginative ways
9) purposely let a mad demon loose who is an expert at coaxing people into comitting sin so you can murder them when they are unable to resist the mad demon's magic
10) when people don't listen to your commands set deadly snakes among them
This list could go on ... But I can't stand anymore examples of syrupy love ...
within the past couple of days, women in nyc are going around topless in public.
i read in a news article, that in new york city, there are no laws against women going topless in public.the article says that family people are getting offended and they want to stop topless women in public.
in europe women show their breasts on on tv, the beach, and breast feeding in public.
But think of all the car accidents that will occur.
