i know there is much encouragement for charities to have financial transparency and i'm all for it reguardless of whether they are a religion or whatever.

also lawsuit pay out should made easy identifiable on tax form too.

any charity should be accountable to the general public when funds are used to pay out lawsuits so that the general public is aware of where their money is going.

in march of 2014, i was a very active jw, a ministerial servant, gave a public talk, was an attendant for the memorial, and one of 4 cleaning captains for an international convention of 40,000+ attendees.

so what woke me up?

an innocent comment from a co-worker about the candice conti court case rang a bell that could not be unrung.

greetings to all, i am new to this site and am enjoying the topics.

briefly, my family suffered my older/deceased brother's molestation when he was 13, in the congregation.

to this day, my mother still defends the elders that dealt with this situation.

welcome! My sister was raped and like your mom, mine still absolves the Borg of all wrong doing and instead blames my sister who was disfellowshipped for immorality, promiscuity and slander because she spoke up. Some JWs are outstanding examples of great parenting, aren't they?
