  christmas means nothing to me.

  i have no abiding, cosy, childhood memories of it.. i don't buy presents or cards....i have to be reminded.. i feel a bit weird.

  people are celebrating and saying: 'i'm feeling christmassy.'.

  i wanted to share with you some feed back from this region.

  since you could say tanzania and other regions within africa are the last hard to reach places on the earth.

  it is where the www preaching work funds are directed, as being justified to get your donations.there are now no longer any foreigners at the branch within tanzania, they all were told to go.

  Good riddance. Poor third world countries don't need the fat tick feeding off the pittance they make breaking their backs every day. Not to mention that Africa has suffered enough ruin from Christianity and Islam. If anything Christianity should be making reparations for all the damage it has caused Africa ....

  Basic Principles for Forum Moderation

  a perennial issue for any online forum is moderation and applying rules.

  we have a set of community guidelines and posting guidelines that are intended to make clear what is and isn't acceptable but this tends to focus on the obvious standards of behavior for, well, obvious reasons.

  it's easy to talk about people being aggressive or insulting etc... as those are common and clearly unwanted behaviors and the typical issue for online communities - the most likely things to come up.. does this mean that everything *not* on the list is allowed?

  You're doing a great job IMO. This forum is so much more than just a place for ex-Dubs. The subject matter is incredibly diverse and always has topics of interest for me and I have certainly learned a lot here and am very grateful. Thank you and the mods for their selfless commitment to keeping this forum as enjoyable and informative as it is.

  Are Magicians Spawns of Satan the Devil?

  i was perusing the internet not long ago and came upon this series of videos by a guy calling himself xendrius.

  it declares that many of today's best magicians are in league with the devil.

  his claims are based on his observation that the tricks would be impossible to do unless the magicians had made unholy pacts with the devil.. so what's the take of the wtbts?

  Nothing new. Humans have always written off things they are unable to understand to superstition. In Africa witch doctors weild tremendous psychological power over people because their ignorance breeds superstition.

  i just watched this clip on youtube....i can't begin to say how it made me feel.

  , i'm not sure who i am more annoyed about.

  the bloke doing the commentry, the punk shouting at a serious and should be respectful religious event, or some of the youtube comments that follow.. and i find this so disrespectful.

  You have the right to ridicule them in your own space. They have a right to worship undisturbed in theirs. If you want to make it OK for someone to burst into their space and be disruptive then that also makes it OK for them to burst into your space and be disruptive.

  My thoughts exactly. Had it been in open public that would have been a different matter entirely. Even so, it still reeks of immaturity.

  bonnie is fourteen years old now and she's still fit and active, but she sleeps (and farts) a lot more and is definitely slowing down.. she loves us in her own dumb way and always comes to the door to greet me when i get home from work.

  she doesn't 'sin' but yeah, she'll steal biscuits and feel shame afterwards.

  she's loyal and intelligent and i dread the day when .

  The questions you propose are the very same ones that Darwin contemplated as I know you are well aware of. It's these many questions which are all part of the inquisitive tapestry driving us to enjoy the questions and answers we patch together with which I have reached conclusion like so many other athiests, that there is no divine plan but instead extraordinary ongoing random events which allows us to clearly see life for what it is - tragic and stunningly beautiful.

  Immature, self-righteous and condescending. Had I been there as a non-JW I'd have tossed them out by the seat of their pants. Completely agree with Nic. If anything at all was achieved it was to prove their view of apostates.
