Indian Larry6 minutes agohowever any Witnesses that are listening may wonder about that. Especially since they are aware of the entire context of Rev. 7 which specifically states that these are males from the tribes of Israel. Just trying to get some to think outside the box. That is the first step to breaking the hold the cult has on their brain.
Besides, for him to try to answer that may be awkward and anything that throws him off his game is fine with me.

A question the Chair (Mclellan) may want to ask G. Jackson
by Indian Larry inmr. jackson, we have heard testimony from mr spinks and mr. obrien that women will never have leadership positions in the congregation.
as i understand it mr. jackson, you interpret revelation 7 to mean that only 144,000 will go to heaven and that these 144,000 will rule the earth.
i also understand that your organization teaches that women are part of this "remnant" of 144,000. can you explain why jesus christ is willing to put women in leadership over the entire earth but you are not willing to permit them to have anything to do with helping victims of pedophiles in your congregation?

Imdian Larry: Imsuspect he'll explain it away as women serving Jehovah in two contexts:
The earthly one where they are subjugated under men.
The heavenly one where it is sexless and all serve equally.
Exactly what his evidence to support this would be Im sure he'll find plenty selective biblical quotes to interpret in the way they (GB) have always done.
Good question nonetheless.

Why the Bible is a poor moral compass

I would suggest the compass was an illusion created by men who had no scientific understanding. Ill use two examples.
1) Thoughts of a sexual nature are regarded as unclean and forbidden. But we are not the masters of these impulses, our hormones are. We can at best only control the outcome of these impulses. If these impulses are evil, why do we get them and get them often? If there's a God who designed us, this would suggest there is a major design flaw.
2) Much of the behaviour (eg. Suicidal tendencies, addictions) deemed as demonic we know today as being the result of chemical imbalances and various other biological elements in the equation and not some paranormal force. Again if we insist on hanging onto this belief system we suggest a design flaw when He's supposed to be perfect and all powerful.
I don't suggest I'm in the right here, merely that this is my view with the issue of judging human behavior with biblical principle.

Like other posters before me I would want to know in concise terminology exactly how God communicates with them. I believe this issue is at the core of the cult, it's how they claim all their guidance from policy to belief is made manifest.
I believe this is an opportunity to either showcase him as a deliberate deciever or someone who absolutely believes his own lies. Either way there will be those who will regard it as nonsense and those who will still believe him and for the former that's still a win in my book.

Hi there Atacrossroads. This forum is filled with people with a genuine compassion for one another. There is some fantastic advice left in this thread by folks far more experienced and mentally equipped than I, so I'll just offer you my sympathy and wish you all the best.

Sad and pathetic. No matter which crowd I happen to be part of, if what is being said/going on doesn't warrant applause, I'm not going to oblige!
