What woke you up?
by Israel Ricky Gonzales inin march of 2014, i was a very active jw, a ministerial servant, gave a public talk, was an attendant for the memorial, and one of 4 cleaning captains for an international convention of 40,000+ attendees.
so what woke me up?
an innocent comment from a co-worker about the candice conti court case rang a bell that could not be unrung.

I've already written a long post on what woke me up, so For this thread I'll just say racism in the congs woke me up. -

Buddhism Anyone?
by LaurenM inso, i have recently been delving in buddhism and i must say it all makes sense!
like, the philosophies and ideas are what i've always believed but could never put a name to.
for example, they don't believe in god, they teach acceptance of all faiths, that peace can be achieved - not by changing other people - but by changing yourself, that everyone has goodness in themselves, that happiness can be gained internally (not externally as a gift from god), and that life is temporary so we should enjoy it!

At least they're ahead of the Borg. They are now allowing ladies to become lamas. The philosophy for living your life has its benefits as many religious beliefs/ideologies do. But as Cofty said, it's still nonsense as far as beliefe goes.
I don't see why you cannot live by your own common sense virtues without the need of someone else's doctrine or philosophy.

New Kingdom Halls
by panhandlegirl inwhat's with all this new kingdom hall building?
just watched jw broadcasting about their master plan for building new kingdom halls.
sounds like a big deal.

If you believe they're building new KHs then it's more likely you'll donate and assume that's how the money is being used. Of course most of us here seriously doubt that .. -

1) demand parents sacrifice their children
2) kill anyone that commits immorality
3) kill all homosexuals
4) kill all non believers
5) demand the amputatation of the hands that commit anything regarded as a sin
6) murder all the first born of those who enslave your followers
7) drown every living creature if they aren't compliant
8) have your own son tortured and crucified and then demand everyone worship you through him or face death in all sorts of imaginative ways
9) purposely let a mad demon loose who is an expert at coaxing people into comitting sin so you can murder them when they are unable to resist the mad demon's magic
10) when people don't listen to your commands set deadly snakes among them
This list could go on ... But I can't stand anymore examples of syrupy love ...

Women going topless in NYC.
by Fisherman inwithin the past couple of days, women in nyc are going around topless in public.
i read in a news article, that in new york city, there are no laws against women going topless in public.the article says that family people are getting offended and they want to stop topless women in public.
in europe women show their breasts on on tv, the beach, and breast feeding in public.

I'm 16 and I might be pregnant In a JW household
by NYsweet16 inokay, i don't even know where to start.
i'm 16, i live in a strict jw household and i know if i am pregnant (which is a big possibility) ..i know i'm doomed to a life of misery.
not because of my baby but because of my family and the isolation and judgement from the congregation.

Sofia Lose:
First of all she never blamed anyone for her predicament. She did acknowledge that her predicament was made worse by the fear of judgement and being disowned by her JW family and their cult network of friends. In my opinion your calous remarks are par for the course as a JW zombie, I bet you fit in nicely with all the other judgemental and self righteous zombies. And yes I just passed character judgement on you, the difference is you're not a scared and troubled young lady in a potentially bad situation so I don't particularly care. A more apt name for you would be Sofia Loser. I'm glad you're not my parent although you and my mom would get along swell together.

Who Really is ..... The Blood Washed Multitude (Great Crowd) ?
by Perry infor jw's the issue has never been who the faithful and wise servant (f&ds) was.
that is just misdirection and sleight of hand.
it is plain from the context that this was obviously a rhetorical question meant for self introspection.

Maybe that blood washed multitude crowd consists of all those who murdered and were murdered in the name of the son and his father.. 5,000 years of blood, genocide, mayhem and human sacrifices make it a number too numerous to count.
My thoughts exactly! But of course, that couldn't possibly be the case because that would suggest that Christianity is guilty of blood-letting, when Christianity has done nothing other than spread the teachings of "Christ" about love and non-judgement, right?Biblical interpretation is always tailored to fit the "My religion's right and your's is wrong" rhetoric.
