Tim3lord:
I hope you're having that Laphroaig with ice?
just a total speculative thought i had.
with branches getting cut, special pioneers getting sacked, and bethel members going byebye, is there a need for gilead still?
(co's are probably on the block too lests be honest).. if they got rid of that i feel that would be huge.

Cappy:
I hadn't smoked a cigarette since 1989 (but never stopped puffing cigars) but my wife smoked and then began puffing on E-cigs around 2013 and I loved the aroma so I gave it a go. Now I love to relax with my mod and Laphroaig. Still, as much as I love my mod, it won't ever come close to a Cuban Cohiba or Romeo Y Julieta - but those are only for special occasions.
FMF: nice cigar collection. Don't recognize some of those brands off-hand but are those Macanudo on the far left?
And I am definitely NOT refined. I'm far closer to crass.

i would get home from work, eat dinner, shower and put on jeans,a shirt and gym shoes to the book study.
then, one day a letter was read where men would need to wear a suit and tie and the woman would have to wear dresses.
it was stated in a letter that the change was due to, '' giving a better witness to anyone who would watch us walking into our local congregation or a neighbor's house.''.

.. and fun too !
:d. what?
were you expecting a "but"?
ive been reading all these posts about bethelites and special pioneers being kicked out in the street and being forced to get a job to provide for themselves..
and im trying to put myself in their situation and feel the emotions that must be going through their mind.
what if my wife and i both dropped out of school to pioneer and got married at 18. and what if we were very faithful in listening to everything the organization says.
I have zero sympathy for them. While my brother was serving his three year sentence for being a religious objector, he and his South African Bethel pals all thought it prudent to share their thoughts on my sister's promiscuity (she was raped) with their friends and family back home. When my mom took me to visit my brother while he was helping the building at the new Roodekrans Bethel, my brother, his friends and my mom couldn't wait to all huddle together and share how disappointed they all were with my sister. All his Bethelite friends were more than eager to smear her name at all the assemblies, too.
I bet you the vast majority of these "poor Bethelites" completely support the cruel practice of shunning. If shunning is ok by them, then them being thrust into the real world where they can be ridiculed and scrounge for a living is ok by me. Just like they believe DFd people get what they deserve for not being faitful to the GB, they got what they deserved for BEING faithful to the GB. Screw their self righteous asses. If they happen to have kids, then those are the only ones that get my sympathy.
