would people learn to live peacefully together or would they rip each other apart even faster?.
god has clearly be used throughout history to justify this that or the other political ideology or cultural colonization effort.

No God, or no religion? To me the two are not the same thing. But they do equally share in the failures of mankind here on this earth. I think the world could prosper without religion because in the research I have done so far, religion is man's problem. In my research I have found no God interested enough to take part in human interests beyond creation. Religion mixes with politics and makes a bigger mess, but then some politics are based on religion, and so it goes. Both have made the huge divisions in people race wise, economicly, and country wise, and in many other ways. Power, control and greed rule them both. Since they do provide structure for all of the world, and it is all we have at the present, if they were wiped out without a better structure to take their place I think that the results would be extremely negative for all of us. But you can continue to imagine, and hopefully, along with that, do your own part in making changes that may influence the next generation to do better than we did, because imagining will get you no where.Lindy

Average Numbers of Victims per Molester (rev)

some have had difficulty in accepting the number of victims per pedophile i have used, i.e.
i based this on what an attorney who prosecutes such cases against molesters told me.

I am having a hard time figuring out why you would say to Pork Chop what you said from what he wrote. I quess how you read something can be interpreted from where you are coming from yourself in your own experiences. I did not take Pork Chop's comment to mean that he was defending the molesters, but that he thought that simply that the number was to high. I was thinking the same thought that Pork Chop was, that just because someone says something, doesn't make it so, not even when someone in an "authoritive" position says it is so. That is critical thinking. With critical thinking comes another thought. Show me the study that produced these figures. It is easy for anyone to say anything, something like this needs backing up. Show me where this was "reasonably tested and supportive. How many where in the study? Where was the study done? Was it done in the inner city or in the rural areas. What part of the country was it done in? Which country was it done in? Was it a controled study? How were the victims identified? How were the accusers identified? The list goes on and on, yet we here have seen no proof.And before you might think that I am defending child molesters, don't. As Waiting and a few others here know, I too, have personal experience in this area. I have been molested and I can't imagine that the several people who came at me had 299 other victims. Each of them couldn't have hide their activities, and surely would have been found out and stopped and procecuted. 300 people, even children, and in some cases, especially children, are a lot to keep silent. The molester would have a full time job just keeping them quiet. The molester would have no time for the "normal" life that most of them present to the "outside" that is necessary to carry on as molesters, or more would be caught.
Averages are funny things anyway. They really don't mean much per individual. To get the average of 300, one molester could only molest one child. Another could molest thousands. But still that figure of 300 per molester sounds to high to me. even 50 sounds way to high to me. Most molesters do have more than one victim, possibly several, but not 300 each. Even the big time cases that hit the news, such as molesters in day care centers and priests in the churches, don't have such high figures, even when you figure that some didn't come forward. My opinion, anyway and in no way in defense of molesters!

When Reinstated...NO APPLAUSE!
by Disengaged inthe other evening a young person was reinstated and the jerk-water elder making the announcement went out of his way to remind "the friends" that applauding would not be proper.
what mind control, bunk, dribble, bull................ they are so loving aren't they?
i shoulda applauded anyway.

I remember when this started. Ones were giving parties for the ones reinstated and someone somewhere decided this was inappropriate. It would take away from the impact of the bad deed done if everyone was too happy to see a disf. one back in. People would give presents and shower a lot of attention on these ones too. Duh, like Blonde said, must have forgotten about the prodigal son!! I think the ones who didn't like this were just jealous.

Have fun Mulan, it's raining here so this might just be a dud day because it is out back in an orchard and there is no shelter and the daughters who planned this thing didn't think of the possibility of rain and there won't be any canopies unless they go out and rent them the last minute. Good luck doing so on the fouth of July, huh? Maybe I will gather everyone up and bring them over here. We have a big double garage that we can use to shelter the party and the rest of the house and a big front porch. Should work, maybe?
Hopefully the rain will stop by 5 when it is slated to start.

Happy Fourth of July everyone who celebrates it. So is anyone having fun today? Picnics, fireworks, parades? And for you who don't celebrate, have one on us anyway!
Mommie Dark (my well loved SIL) and I will be going to a big family shin-dig. A belated 60th anniversary party for our Uncle and Aunt. That is, it will be big if all the relations show up and we don't get rained out!! Family that I am sure I won't recognize will be there if all invited show. Our JW sister won't be there but wishes us to have fun without her. How gracious of her, considering the day. I guess if you mix holidays and "apostates" together in one place it is just to much to ask! He he he. Like rolling in poison ivy and expecting not to catch it, huh! LOL [8>]
I wonder if the other family Jdubs will show up? Hope so, I miss seeing them.
It should be fun though, someone is bound to do something worth gossiping about, don't ya think?...might even be me! Of course, you know, it would never be Mommie! What fun things are now that we are free to go and do what we please without the shadow of religious guilt trailing behind us watching our every move.

my next survey is along the same line, however what i would like to find out is on the average how many hours you spent in the field service and were you ever able to bring anyone into the non-truth via field service or via incidental witnessing.. and how long you were associated with the borg?.

Published for over 40 years, can't give you the hours. Only auxilery pioneered one month and absolutely hated it. Reported hours I didn't work some months just so the elders would leave me alone. Just faded out in the end and no one cared.
Brought in two people, one is not in any more and I lost track of the other. Many, many studies but to no avail. Some of my studies were with ones already going with their families and they either asked me to study or the elders thought it would be good. One was baptized but now out and one is still going but even after a good many years, she is still not baptized. Unfortuately I helped many family members to either come in or to continue in. My bad.Lindy, wondering why you are doing these surveys. Self interest or what?

Suggestions for baby names please
by hippikon inwe would like to ask you good folk ( the bad ones can play as well) for suggestions for baby names.
its getting close now and we need ideas.

A suggestion: if you are overcome and like more names than a first and second, add a second middle name. We did that for our girls. We compromised on the first name and used both of our favorites for the middle names. They actually like it. Each of them at times, has gone by at least one of their middle names in Junior High and High School. Seems like kids going through those years like to be "different" and make up names for themselves and that is what their friends call them. Individualism, and independence, ya know...
Might try some of the old names that aren't used much anymore, so that not every kid in school will have the same name as yours. But not to old or strange. No weird spellings tho', kids hate that!!
Mommie mentioned Bible names. We used the Biblical spelling on two common names and our girls always have to make sure that people get that right. The more popular spellings of the same name are a bit different, although are now becoming much more common. (I always wondered why the Biblical spellings were not the "right" ones to begin with?)
On unusual names, my daughters friend has a 18 month old girl that she named Legend Angelica.
