went to a funeral today, somewhat awestruck.
by man in black inthis morning i went to a catholic funeral mass for a priest who inherited, and help grow an orphanage in chicago.
he died from cancer which he had for the past several years.. when he got the orphanage back in the early 70's the church was ready to shut it down for lack of direction, and growth.
but since he took over the reins,.

Thank you for sharing that very touching story. What as amazing person he must of been.
The first JW funeral I attended was that of a young boy whose father was an elder. The kingdom hall that he belonged to was in a nieghboring town 14 miles north of us. I will never forget the table set up with all diffrent kinds WTS publications on display right as you come in the door. Or the cold sermon given to the public for this child, it was nothing more than a recuiting talk. I attended a few more and they were conducted in the same manner, no celebrating the life of the person who passed. Very sad...

As I am typing up responses, the elders pull into the start of my driveway and then they stop right where my husband posted the Private property signs. My husband and I are watching them as they sit there for a moment. They then slowly back up, turn around, and drive away! Wow, those signs work good, I wish I would of done that sooner!!!

@Irondork- I like the message that you passed on to the elders through your letter. I would like to write them one on why I left, about mine and others ill treatment there, as well exposing the hypocracy going on in the cong., ect. Even if they don't listen, which is a big possiblity, I would feel good knowing that I sent it.
@Sizemilk-I know others there have delt with the garbage that has went on there, but they are scared and don't want to make trouble. I always let them know that they are welcome anytime to visit with me in confidence. I have a few sisters who I am in contact with that talk to me still.
@LV101- Thank you, I will keep that legal avenue in mind, I have a feeling they will try to pull an underhanded trick on me. I know they have done it to others, but they never pursued it. I am currently in touch with a few of the ones who at one time attended my hall and were screwed over. I want to eventually sit down with them and run the newspaper, and legal department options over with them.
@Retrovirus-Thank you, and your right I have nothing to lose but the chains they graced me with!

@Flipper, Blacksheep - I thought about what you and the others have said on this thread and I totally agree. They show up unannouced like I owe them something and then tell me that they are coming over demanding a response from me.I didn't even know what time to expect them. I spoke wih my husband and of course he has some very strong feelings about this cult as well because he feels that it ruined his family life and childhood growing up. He and I went to Ace's hardware and picked up some signs that read PRIVATE PROPERY KEEP OUT. He put them at the end of the driveway. We are going to watch and wait and see how it goes!

@Anonymous- I am planning on being a big pain in their asses! They haven't heard the last of me! You hang in there too, my thoughts are with you Anonymous, stick to your guns and give them hell!!!!

@Dogisgood- I tell you I was kicking myself after they left for not putting up those no trespassing signs. The one elders sister came to my house 2 weeks not to come see me but to see my daughter and recruit her! I thought about getting those signs then. Instead I sent my husband out to talk to her, she hasn't been back since!LOL!
@FoundSheep-It would be cool if it sunk in, my hope is that they went home and did some research on what was discussed.
@Out4good3-They ignored me for 10 years they finally come to question me after I started working for myself as a tattoo artist. I have a disabled husband and a teenage daughter that I take care of. I started my profession when I got hurt on the job and eventually lost my job and was laid up for 4 months, they didn't even care to stop by or call. They don't care when I am struggling just when I am doing something they feel is bringing negative attention to them. I don't feel so bad not being here when they show up.
Posting that vid on a JW website that is funny! Some people have no sense of humor!
@OnTheWayOut- I figured they probably will cut me loose if I don't give them a letter, but I could live with that. A few years back my friends, a husband and wife were DA'd by the same cong. Thing is they didn't even write a letter, the elders told everyone that she and her husband did, they flat out lied to the congregation! They will probably do the same thing to me.

@Iquit- Thank you, and yes I don't think I could mentally keep up with living the lie. I really hammered the point home to them was how this is a money making corparation masked in a religion. The people that used to be my friends already ignore me, I have also cut off the ones who would call me and count me for time. I had three sisters who would come to my house or call me just to use me for time!
@JamieBowers-I am shocked that they gave me a choice to considering all I had said to them. I am very sorry that happened to you, and yes it is a very vile corporation. I brought out to the elders how I felt that the Org treats sisters just how J. Ruthaford did, with contempt, and also how they treat victims of abuse. I told them that the Org is no better than the religions that they condemn. If god was truly with them they wouldn't treat thier most vunerable people that way!

@Sizemilk- I agree with you and Scully. I decided not to write the letter, plus I don't think I will be at home. I still have a few things to do before I exit and I will exit on my terms or they can DF me but I will not give them a letter of resignation.
@Pams Girl- Thank you, I will definitly do that! I have received alot of great advice and I will heed it for sure. I am so glad that I have joined this forum! The Phillip Morris company is a tobacco company and the WTS owned stocks in that company for about 3 years until they were exposed they then sold them off. I said to the elders that I wouldn't take a job in a tobacco company because my consceince would of bothered me plus I could get DF'd, but why could the WTS own stocks in Phillip Morris? No response, to that. I said if you don't believe me look it up it is public record!
@Black Sheep-HaHa!!! So true! I thought about how disfuctional, sad and low this so called Christian religion is and how people gossip and send elders your way like they are getting more brownie points with god for telling on me! That also brings to mind a Youtube vid I watched recently called kissing Franks Ass, it is so much like the WTS!
@Aguest- Thank you, and I will make it that much harder for them. I too am hoping that they research this info as well. It was kind of sad to watch them because they couldn't even defend thier own faith that they have given everything for!

@Lozhasleft- When they came to my door they had these stern looks on thier faces like they were going to school me. I am so glad I had a few brewskis before they showed up! At the end of it all they were more than happy to get the heck out! I hope they took my words to heart.
