How you will howl and beat yourself with wine gum packets - yeah, full ones at that - when that day arrives - the day of the FA cup.
ROFL! Too funny!

(PS: what is the FA cup?)
as the apostates increasingly gather courage, poking their vile heads out of their filthy spider-holes, slavering like the mad creatures that they are, as they shake their puny fists at the lord of all creation, jehovah's people may may become downhearted, even despondent.
many, we hear, are slowing down or even becoming inactive.
others have been so bold as to have risen up to question the slave as it faithfully dispenses food in due season.

i only know a handful of witnesses, but i do know several ex-witnesses.
all of them left in their late teens, which (as i've read here) is pretty common.
i know there are a lot of people here who left later in life.
-born in
-doubts at 12
-avoided getting baptised because of doubts 13-15
-at 16 I knew I would leave ASAP
-at 18 I was out the door

(Also as someone above said, for any young lurkers, it was a very difficult road. I had to move out of my house at 18 because I didn't want to be a JW. My parents gave me no choice. If there was any way I could have stayed home a little longer..maybe I could have gone to school...I would have. And I would encourage others to, if they can.)

jackson custody twist.
january 27, 2004 .
LaToya's status I can't verify.
LaToya is no longer a JW, according to her biography she put out a few years ago.
The book has several interesting sections about what it was like being raised a JW, how difficult it was for Micheal to deal with the JW thing, how he wrestled with if he should leave it or not...very interesting. The book is not great or anything, but the JW parts are very interesting.

I loved that movie as kid!
When I was little, I never got to see Willy Wonka, so seeing it as an adult was a let down. And I liked Charlottes Web, but it made me cry. And, I wan't allowed to see Mary Poppins because it had MAGIC in it!!!!!!
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was my favorite movie. I loved the whole thing! I know all the songs to this day. The castle, the story, the music, the inventions, the car, the kids, the plan at the end where she pretends to be a musical doll...*sigh* I gotta rent that...

jesus showed the intended purpose of god's laws, when he worked on the sabath, avoided answering the tax question, forgave sinners that were commanded to be put to death by god's law, etc.
what jesus showed when he seemed to be offending god to fanatics was that saving life is more important that obedience to laws.
whatever god meant when he enjoined "abstinance from blood" to christians as belived by the wt, or when he commanded noah not to eat blood, and whatever the meaning is for people today of the laws that prevent the eating of blood and restricted the use of blood, certainly, based the way that jesus showed how god's laws should be applied, it makes sense that god did not mean that one should obey blood laws when eating or transfusing blood is the only means at hand to survive.

Perfect. Great post, fearnotruth22. Thanks!
now this is not a bush bashing thread, i think everyone here pretty much knows how i feel about the man, but there is quite a bit of controversy surrounding our president--just today even.
he is thinking of funding church groups that do volunteer work.
he was visiting a church in louisana today that has had a childcare program since 1941. he would like to see federal funds given to such organizations even if they are run by a church.
It is an excuse for the state to shirk it's obligations and for the religious-right to be 'rewarded' for their backing.
*standing and clapping* Tell it, brother!!!!

below is a note taking session between my brother and i. i must have been around 15 and him 13. i vaguely remember writing this.
i came across it going through some old papers.
b- what do you want to do after the meeting?
Ah, the memories!
Unbeliever, thanks for sharing your notes and for bringing back memories! Passing notes was the only joy I ever had at the KH.
Sometimes my mother would get so upset because she could see I was shaking with suppressed laughter.....she would then make me change seats to be far away from my note passing cohort. I remember sometimes writing the notes on my Watchtower, and after the meeting trying to find a way to dispose of the Watchtower covered with incriminating notes to my friend scribbled all over it...
But when I got a little older, I had a note passing experience that I still hold close to my heart: I was about 17.5 year old, just waiting to be 18 and escape,...sitting by my mother at a CA, and SHE passed a note to me about something funny! We passed notes during the whole talk making fun of the talk and the chairs and the whole experience. I remember the talk was about "Youths" and "wholesome activities" or something. And I remember at the end of the talk, my Mom (my MOM!) passed the note back to me and it said:
"They should have called this talk "Youths: NO FUN ALLOWED!"
I never felt so close to my mom.
