  i'd like to discreetly get together with people in my area.

  i'm successfully faded but i'm a 4th generation and my mom's a regular pioneer - needless to say i know a lot of people, and a lot of people know my family.. still, i'd like to get together - discreetly.. if you are interested, pm me.. bafh.

  i came across this video ... and watched it ... why?

  i don't know really, but i found it intersting.. especially interesting was how these men used the bible, they knew their message, they used an actual hard copy bible that has obviously been studied, and the older jw man, well, he was using a tablet.

  it seemed cumbersome compared to using the actual bible.

  Plus, didn't it used to be the JWs that were the experts at cherry picking verses from a well-worn and highlighted Bible? Wasn't it the Witnesses who used to astound the householders with their "knowledge" and having all those verses at their fingertips? Theses other dudes (from their own cult no doubt...who are they?) beat the Jws at their own game.

  The JWs have lost their mojo.

  It was shocking to me when around 1:30-ish when the JW is asked "Why are you out here?" And the JW replies "We are promoting our website."

  It really REALLY shocked me to actually hear "website" come out of the Jw's mouth instead of "God's kingdom."

  Unbelievable. Just sitting here shaking my head.

  Should the constitution be amended to make being and adherent of Islam a crime?

  since isis is killing people in the middle east and apparently they are invaded the rest of the earth with their hateful beliefs should we as americans take the steps necessary to amend the constitution to say something along the lines of .

  congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion except in regards to islam, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof except in regards to islam; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble except in regards to islam, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.. .

  thoughts?

  "the right of the people peaceably to assemble" seems to be a key part. Do no harm to others overrides all other clauses.

  Really? You'd support that would you?

  I WOULD support people's right to be members of the KKK and would NOT support them be able to enslave or kill or terrorize anyone. That is the law of the land already.

  Being a member of the KKK IS totally legal in the US, protected by the United States constitution, AND enslaving or killing people of other races is illegal.

  But being a member of the KKK? Totally legal because this is a free country.

  Killing people is not legal and not protected by the constitution.

  Being a member of the Moonies? Scientologists? Radical Rightwing Anti-Government groups? Any crazy stupid religion you want, no matter what they believe? What to believe in and follow Charles Manson? Any political party you want? All legal and protected by our constitution.

  America has her faults, but freedom isn't one of them!

  (Another interesting thing about the KKK is they claim to be based on Christian principles, and they point to Bible verses to justify their beliefs and actions. But it would be crazy to judge all of Christianity based on how a tiny fraction twist the Bible.)

  confusedandalone agrees with you. The OP was a question, not a statement of belief. In another thread, people were calling for Islam to be outlawed in the United States, and there seemed to be wide agreement with the idea! Perhaps in this thread we will see if there really is wide agreement on this board for that idea... who knows? maybe most Americans on this board are ready to throw the constitution out the window.... but I don't think so! (God, I hope not...)

  I agree with jwfacts. This is perfect "we're not a crazy cult" propaganda for the wt.

  Further, I am pretty sure some bigwigs from the Org came and talked to him and told him he can say that. I bet they WANTED him to say this. This kid's story isn't even about blood transfusion, right?

  And I'm sure the dad will not be DA/DF. (Off topic: DA is exactly the same as DF. We should not treat them as if they are different when they are not, imo. That is just playing into the Org's word games that it uses to cover up its crimes in the minds of its people and the public.)

  The wt is changing. Ask a JW on the street today and, unlike 20 years ago, they will already say blood transfusions are a conscience matter. Those that hear this story will just figure this guy's conscience is ok with it. And that attitude will spread. One day, JWs will have blood transfusions without a second thought and the whole deadly mess will be far in the past, like their previous ban on organ transplants or any of their other numerous discarded beliefs.

  We know the blood thing has to go eventually. This is just another step to putting it into the past.

  Switch off the critical mind: starts around 2:12-ish….“imagine” etc

  Hypnotic commands: The constantly repeated three “questions” that are really commands 1) Don't give you divotion to ANYTHING other than the JW religion 2) Don't let negative thoughts, sex, education, or your job distract you from the JW religion 3) You personally as an individual have felt Jah's strength and love in you life so you personally KNOW the JWs are right.

  Building Rapport

  Building Rapport is very easy to do, building rapport simply means making a connection with that person which allows them to trust you. You already have Rapport with friends and family, and building Rapport with someone knew is easy. Mirroring someones body language, making eye contact and laughing at their jokes help build Rapport with someone very quickly. Once the Rapport is built, you can move on to the next step.

  Switch Off The Critical Mind

  Switching off the Critical Mind is best done by using words and phases such as “Imagine” or “What If” using these phrases immediately bypass the Critical Mind and move straight into the imagination which is very important. If you ask someone to imagine something, then they will immediately imagine that in their head. For example, “What if a black cat could fly” Chances are, you’re now imagining a flying black cat. Switching off the Critical Mind leads right into giving hypnotic commands, which is the third and final important step.

  Giving Hypnotic Commands

  Once you’ve completed the first two steps, you can then begin to give someone hypnotic commands and start making them do things that you’d like them to do. For example, if you want to calm someone down and lower their stress levels, the following paragraph should work well in doing that.

  “Imagine you’re on a beach somewhere, listening to the waves lapping at the shoreline, imagine soft, soothing music playing in the background with the warm sun glowing down onto you, what if you could feel incredibly relaxed and happy, with no care in the world? Can you imagine that? Imagine how nice you’d be able to feel if that were possible.”

  I’ve put the hypnotic commands in italics, as you can see I’m being repetitive in saying the word “imagine” and i’m also playing into their other senses, such as being able to hear the music, and feeling the warm sun on their skin. If you’re repetitive and play into someones senses, they will really be able to imagine themselves their and their stress levels should drop almost immediately.

  Remember, this can work on anyone at anytime, as long as you follow these three, but yet important steps into convert hypnosis

  i believe the organization is already easing up on disfellowshipping people for apostasy.

  they know most doubters just want to be left alone.

  disfellowshipping them turns them into martyrs.

  I thought they already don't disfellowship for apostatsy.

  Don't they say you "dissassociated yourself" (by admitting you don't believe in the the FDS, for example)?

  Do you think they are going change to let people admit freely they don't believe in some primary doctrines and NOT have that = disassociation?

  Do you think they will go further than that and let people freely express to other JWs their disbelief in some primary doctrines and NOT have that = disassociation?

  Kind of hard to imagine that...

  Jwgonebad...what that JW did NOT say was "a jw does not DA themselves by taking blood" Until he says THAT, I don't see any change.

  (Remember, these are the same people who look you in the eye and say they don't shun former members)
