Nugget: Thanks for your support! Im looking forward to my future now. I understand that im going to have difficulties with the organisation in the future, but hey, i couldnt give a damn! At least i will be in true love! :)
JW GoneBad: You sound like the type of guy i like to hang around with. Thanks for your words of encouragement! Keep in touch! :)
Pams Girl & Heaven: Thanks to you both! I live in Wales too! Lol... Thanks for reminding me that God loves me! Its true isnt it - someone telling me i cant love someone, is like telling me i cant have air. Silly! I know im a loving and caring person - I get it from my dad. He was the most loved elder in our congregation and was well known for being a caring person. Im certain i can make someone happy in the future - I look forward to it! I have swam against the current for long enough, and its caused me pain! Freedom is approaching rapidly!!! :):):) In spite of all of this, i will still desire to be as close to God as possible, reading the bible, and applying it in my life as i still believe its a wonderful thing! :)
Love you all, Tim! :)
Many thanks! :)

Hi everyone!
Saltyoldlady: I would love to have a look at the book you have quoted! I wouldnt find reading such a book to be difficult! I think id find it quite interesting actualy! I have learnt that in order to advance ones thinking, it is important to criticise even your own beliefs and thoughts! If i didnt, i may never find out what the REAL truth is! I welcome your thoughts and ideas. The things you have quoted are very interesting! I will see if i can find this book online! Thanks! :)
Strymeckirules: Brilliant Point!!! The context is SOOOO important! I discussed this verse with some other JWs and they dont agree with my thoughts on it! But im the only one who discussed the context of the scripture. As you said, it is about staying awake! Even if there is a faithful slave now, i can still do my bit now in being faithful to god! Good reminders to keep on the watch! Thanks!
Este: Good questions! I agree! The slave will be appointed when the master arrives! Im not sure if the JW's believe Jesus has arrived yet, or whether he has yet to arrive! If he has arrived (which i think logicaly they would believe) then he has made his choice, but if he arrives during Armageddon or whatever (which is the way i understood his second coming) then he will choose this slave THEN!!! This makes sense to me!
Heaven: I can see why you favour the view that the FADS is all of us! Afterall, it gives us all the responsibility to care for our own needs, and, being accountable to God is something on a personal level anyway, it makes sense. I have looked at many other religions, although my dad was an elder in our cong, he ALWAYS enocouraged me to research other religions and test out EVERYTHING i hear from the KH! He is a good guy and i can see his balanced attitude! Because of it he is almost as skeptical about what he hears from the platform as i am! Like you said... the bottom line: Love! Thats what Jesus taught! We all have ability to love god and appreciate Jesus! After all the scripture says: he that does the will of God remains forever, not, he that is a Jehovahs Witness will remain forever! In some ways, i see how the JW's have gone beyond the things written! (1 John 2:17, 1 Corinthians 4:6)
DJpoetech: Thanks! Nice and simple isnt it! Jesus has all the authority! As good as it may be have a catalyst (The Watchtower) to help me serve Jehovah, i understand that i dont have to be an exclusive member to be saved! Thanks for this!
Thanks everyone!
I appreciate all your comments! Im being enlightened each day! :)
Its crazy because in the past i could never be bothered studying the bible, but now, i cant stop reading it, and every day i do, i see things which make me question the beliefs and ideas i have been brought up! The bible itself encourages this - AND COME ON - ITS SO CLEAR! (1 John 4:1-3) :):):) -

Thanks everyone for commenting! Its interesting to listen to you ideas!
Ding & Mindmelda: I like the points you make... The bible teaches that Jesus is the way the truth and life! (John 14:6) :) Ill always remember that no matter what im asked to believe by the JW's.
Tec: Thanks for your thoughs! Im not too sure about this one. I can see why this scripture would apply to each of us individualy, but i just dont know! Looking at the context it appears to me that Jesus was speaking about those who care for the spiritual needs of others. In that time Jesus asked his disciples to do that. Having said that... i agree that doing his will applies to me personaly anyway, so i agree with you nontheless.
Nickolas: Thanks. I have always been a inquistive and critical thinker. I have never taken anything on face value and questioned everything i have ever been taught. I finished university last year and it has realy opened my eyes in terms of question things. I understand that the WTS isnt all its cracked up to be, but i do love the teachings and lifestyle of Jesus. What an amazing thinker HE was!
Gutted: Everytime i hear this scipture at out meetings (which is EVERY SINGLE meeting) i cringe! I appreciate that they may be 'A' faithful slave, and credit where its due, i believe they do a lot of good, but i also think its quite haughty to say that they are THE ONLY faithful slave. After all, Jesus illustration in the next few verses implies that there exist more than one faithful slave. Teh context is so important. It also upsets me when i read how condemnatory they are about other religious groups. Many of them do WONDERFUL works to try and help people. Some of them are more Christian than we are!!! Yet, the WTS still judges and condems them! That isnt Christian in my eyes. Ill have a look at the book! Thanks! :)
Clarity: Thanks! I love learning truth and the quest for more knowledge is something i enjoy! I love the point when you say Christ already has the job. Once again it reminds me of the scripture on John 14:6 which says that no one comes to the father EXCEPT through him! Christianity is such a big balance isnt it. Its funny though, because sometimes, i wonder the intentions of the GB. Do they SERIOUSLY want to make it easier for us to worship Jesus or are they in it for their own personal glory? Sometimes im not too sure when i hear certain things from the platform.
Anyway, thanks for your thoughts everyone. :) I appreciate them! -

Hi everyone. Im 23 and im still a JW. The Jehovahs Witnesses claim that God is using their earthly organisation in the last days! Im realy not too sure. I want to research it further. What do you all think?
Such questions have sprung to my mind: Why would Jehovah use an earthly organisation? Would he need one? Where is this notion backed up by scripture? (Please dont quote Matthew 24:45 - Its simply an illustration and doesnt prove much)
Personaly, im not satisfied to know that this organisation 'IS' the chosen one. I would like to see some evidence to clarify it, or at least understand the scriptural basis for this teaching. After all, anyone can say, "Im the chosen one" without proof. Should you believe them without any evidence?
Where is the evidence? Does anyone have any ideas. Please be reasonable too with your answers. I seriously would like to know what you all think.
Thanks, Tim :) -

17 Other holidays of the world honor famous men. Still others honor and exalt nations or worldly organizations. But the Bible warns against giving worshipful honors to humans, or trusting in human organizations to accomplish what only God can do. (Acts 10:25, 26; 12:21-23; Revelation 19:10; Jeremiah 17:5-7) So holidays that tend to exalt a man or a human organization are not in harmony with God’s will, and true Christians will not share in them.—Romans 12:2. Live forever Book, P.214
Wow! Thats a profound quote from the JW's isnt it! Its interesting that they here imply that no human organisation can accomplish what God can do! If that be the case, why does the organisation believe that it IS THE organisation? The one that God is using these days? This is a very interesting and candid statement!
Im still a JW by the way, but ive started to be critical and to question their beliefs... after all, I want to find out what ''The Truth is dont I? That can be done through study, critical thinking and more study! :)

Is Being In A "Relationship" Important To You?
by minimus ini am referring to a personal/sexual relationship with someone, perhaps, that you could possibly love.. i know a lot of people who are very content to date, possibly have sex and look for another partner..

VERY! Im still a JW, and despite being gay, i desire to find a guy who i can truly love and spend the rest of my life with. The thought makes me feel all warm and happy! :) Despite the fact that im reasonably introvert... i do believe i need the love and affection to give me a purpose for living! :)

Are you open minded?
by TimothyT ini figured it would be fun if i wrote this, went for a shower, and then came back to check how many have responded!.
just to set the scene, im currently a jw in the uk but i am having issues with my sexuality.
i have just come back from the ministry with a group of brothers!

Wow, SweetBabyCheezits!
I LOVED watching that! I also watchted the one about Critical Thinking! Its very philosophic and profound isnt it! :)
Its great too because id like to think that the things mentioned here are the things that i try to be and to do when i talk with people about my beliefs! I love listening to others and what they have to say on my beliefs! If anyone brings up a point, even if its contrary to what i believe, i love researching it! After all... i believe i have "The Truth"... and if it is, then "The Truth" will stand! If it doesnt, then perhaps it isnt the truth??? Or perhaps there is another truth that i simply havnt come across! interesting stuff! I think ill go back to university... i miss this kind of discussion!
Thanks Minimus! :)

Hi everyone!
I figured it would be fun if i wrote this, went for a shower, and then came back to check how many have responded!
Just to set the scene, im currently a JW in the UK but i am having issues with my sexuality. I have just come back from the ministry with a group of brothers! We met one man who told us we were closed minded!
I AGREED WITH HIM!!!... I have noticed that many of the JW's these days are rather closed when it comes to researching other ideas, but even when researching more about the bible itself!!! It annoys me that so many STILL just go along with what the WTS say without even researching and looking in to it themselves! What about the scripture that talks about making the truth (which i understand to be Gods Word) your own! When i was in university, we were encouraged to question EVERYTHING!!! Perhaps im not the average JW but im so glad that im more open minded about the whole thing! Im willing to listen and reason with other peoples ideas and opinions, some of which i will accept further if they are valid.
What do you think? If some of you are no longer JW's do you still have a firm belief in God and his promises?
:)
