yes a few may have been shepherds or fisherman, but a fair amount were far more educated and were professionals in their fields of occupation.

Este I am athiest becuase I saw that belief in God is not needed in an age of science.
Science cannot control tornados, earthquakes, tsunamis, and all that which destroys lives.....GOD can. What about mens wars, why science created weapons of mass destruction. What about diseases that kill like cancer etc. etc. Where is science? GOD will soon put an end to death.....

Yes it does I used to angry at the JW's. I may be atheist but I am not in any hateful toward the witness or anybody else that professes a belief in God.
So many atheists my. It is not good to carry hate in your heart, it is such a rotten feeling. Especially if you hold the feelings for someone you used to care about. I do not hate any former witness friends, and hope they feel the same about me. I just say, well you choose to believe that way whereas I don't....I do not resent them in any way. It does not seem to be the norm within this forum. They call J.W.'s trolls, lurkers, so on so forth. Not nice....

Look at stubborn Jonah who took a fish to swallow him before he was willing :) I do have a faulty memory, it comes with age, and with some people more than others. I genuinely believed when I was a witness, I used to pray regularly and honestly felt I had a personal relationship with him. I continued to believe in god for a short while after leaving. But rejected the concept after realising it was nonsensical.
Nonsensical hmmmm. Tell yourself that next time you see an attractive female walking down the street. Or when you cuddle next to one experiencing every sense of her being. How about making love to a female and the senses that arouse when the two become one? We were designed and created as two beings to compliment one another......yup we got here by chance. Now that is nonsensical...
