Toy guns...
Anything resembling magic stuff...
i was lucky not to be born into the jw's, so i had pretty much every toy i wanted .... actionman (g.i joe) with all the guns, tanks wonderful 2nd world war uniforms, toy soldiers cavalry, indians, cowboys, knights, castles and forts.. six million dollar man, lone ranger and tonto, toy cars matchbox captin scarlett, thunder birds, loads of guns to run around playing war.. great days.
(of course my sisters had dolls and prams, barbies cindys, play make up).
i know having spoken to jws born into it certain toys were of limits for some kids.. a good friend told me how he loved action man and played with them constantly, until one day he came home and saw them all by the door in a. card board box.. when he asked his mum what she was doing.. she told him "do you really think jehovah wants you to play war, you can keep one of them but he cant have any guns and fight people".

I think sometimes I'm too confrontational. I could take a listen from all the nice people on here.
it seems to me that most, if not all christians are really hung up on sin and redemption from sin and how naturally evil we all are.. my question, and observation is this : i had nothing to do with whatever you say adam and eve did wrong, i have always, throughout my life, treated whoever i came into contact with compassion, respect and love.. i have lived by the golden rule.. not many people, hand on heart, can say that, i can.. so, is your god going to judge me for the "sin" of some mythical forebears of mine ?
is he going to say that , because i did not believe in him, i willl be judged adversely, even though i lived by the precepts he is supposed to support ?.
all i can say is, if your god is like that, i refuse to worship or acknowledge him.. and i certainly do not want to get to know him.

I like fishing in video games about fishing...does that count?
@won't leave: it doens't matter if x is 1 or 9. That has no effect on HOW the equation is supposed to be solved. The equation is only incorrect if, and only if, it was asking that everything to the right of the equation was to be in the denominator. Vertically speaking, everything would be on the bottom. But there's no reason to assume that, so the equation is most likely stating 6/2, or 2/1, or 2 as a single term. 6 divided by 2 times 3 is what I solved for, not 6 divided by the QUANTITY of 2 times 3. The eqaution, if written vertically, would still read the same, UNLESS, everything on the right was MEANT to be in the denominator, in which case, all of that QAUNTITY, 2*3, would be in brackets. Left-to-right is the proper way, anyway. I don't think it's written incorrectly, but it's definitely written in a very confusing and screwed-up way that--and I'm beginning to think that's deliberately to confuse people on the internet--we could easily read it wrong.
*sigh* i have been noticing lately there are a number of groups of "christians" signing up as members of this forum, with the obvious agenda of gaining converts for their own cult-like religions.
i have been wondering things like:.
hmmm...maybe i'll try ignoring them.. thank you simon for the space to vent.. satinka.
Think about this, godrulz: are you making converts of any of us by being a jerk? If not, and we are lost souls you cannot save, then why are you here? Do you have nothing better to do than pick on us? Don't you have a Church service to go to or something? Unless you are willing to contribute something useful and thoughtful to our discussions, you shouldn't be yapping about how righteous you are. How does that benefit you or anyone else? Isn't that the number one sign of being a self-righteous jerk? And we're supposed to trust you have the truth, on that premise?

Pika Chu: I imagine any logician would be able to deal with your non sequiturs, wrong premises, etc.
Then why can't you defend your own beliefs? Does your God not empower you with the ability to think logically? Are my premises really wrong? How so? Is your God not omnibenevolent? Since you are supposed to be made in his image and reflect his virtues, I should say not. You are a douchebag, giving your own God a bad name. The least you can do is explain how my objections are wrong, instead of pretending they aren't there at all.

Oh, IF...? My parents are CRAZY, Mrs. Jones!
i used to get pretty good marks in high school, until it came to situations that required me to give my own opinion.. my social studies teacher used to get quite frustrated with me when it came to anything political.
we were asked to write paragraphs on how we feel about different issues.
i always did something like: "this side feels this way, that side feels that way, here are the pro's and con's to each side, then maybe some obscure comment that didn't really state what my stand was".
I can relate. My questioning started in high school and just got worse and worse...but now I'm here!

@Michelle: can God choose NOT to act in HIS own best interest? Sorry if I sound like an arrogant jerk; I'm usually not this aggressive. But I wanted to test my argument.
