i'm not talking about the homo thing here.. i am very different.
i learn differently.
i am odd, very eccentric sense of humor.. i have decided that instead of trying to get one doctorate degree that i am going to try and get several bachelors degrees in different areas of interest.. i like too many things to concentrate on one subject.. i have worked at the same type of job for the last 20 years and have never been happy.
Good for you Joelbear....Go for it!

P.S. that story inspired me
has anybody got a decent argument that defeats the wt argument that isa 66:6 in the septuagint contains the greek word naos in this scripture.. basically this is one of the arguments the wt uses to show the greek word naos can mean more than the sanctuary.. more info see the great crowd article of 1981.. help!.

I don't understand what good using the Septuagint is when we have access to the original Hebrew scriptures. Are we to take more stock in a copy of something than what it is translated from?
I digress, I took Amazing's advice and looked up Isaiah 66:6's "Temple" in my Strongs Concordance and found the Hebrew word to be heykal (pr. hay-kal). The definition is as follows:
-a large public building, such as a palace or temple.
what would happen if, one by one, each jehovah's witness started standing up for him/herself and what s/he personally stands for?.
a couple of examples: .
a friend of mine, an elder in a rural northern kentucky congregation, stepped down from his position a couple of years ago, and when confronted by the elders, he basically told them in no uncertain terms to 'leave him and his family alone.
Intuit,
I would love to meet your mom :)
I've never met someone who actually stood up to the elders. I never stood up to them...I just left.
God bless your mom,

i just read a post on another site i belong to (non-jw related) where a person asked if anyone knew why jws do not have windows on their kingdom halls.
a few other people responded saying that they had noticed the same thing, that they thought it was b/c the jws believe that windows are just an adornment, hence a distraction?.
in my 20+ years of being a jw and attending quick builds, i never noticed this ... it never even dawned on me ... and now that i try to think back, i can't remember there being any windows at the khs i attended?.
My architect friends would call it "architectural fenestration retardation".
i have had two experiences last night and tonight.
i decided to pay a visit to the blessed sacrament and wait there for chrissy,my granddaughter, instead of coming back home and go back to get her from ccd classes.
the same with joshua, my grandson, tonight.
Yadira,
Its nice to know that there are true Christians out there isnt it? :)
Thanks for sharing that experience.

just was wondering if any comments are available on this?.........
made me mad.
It was blah blah blah boring rhetoric!
i was just listening to my new nicole c. mullen cd (she rocks!!
) and i had this thought...... i really enjoy christian rock music now, but i had never listened to it as a jw because i wasn't allowed.
so instead i listened to that every uplifting ac/dc, metalica, scorpions (still favorites of mine).. the society did release the "kingdom melodies" on tape though and everyone bought the complete set.....did anyone here ever really enjoy that music?
If the bOrg would get people like 3rd Day, Creed or Matt Redmon to do their music...maybe they would be able to keep more of the young dubs from leaving...
Just think of Creed doing "From House to House"

what a cool book, i'll have a lot of things to read during the next week.
Guys,
I was told for a long time that books like C.O.C. were apostate material. I finally read it all the way thru and was very moved at how kind Ray Franz really is. If he started a church...I would go to it!
Ray managed to keep to the facts and not let his own opinion get in the way. I was very impressed with that.
Lizard,
by tuesday "a ministerial servant" posted message on a local religious forum wondering why any witness would still idenfy themselves on the forum especially after special talk given last sunday?
by wednesday the very same nick came up again and stressed main features of the special talk:.
"armageddon is just around the corner.
If Armageddon is just around the corner what did 1975 mean?
27 years later and we are still 'rounding the corner.
I wont hold my breathe ;)
