  a little birdie informed me that a lawsuit against the watchtower bible & tract society, its legal department, and several individuals (perhaps lawyers in the legal department) has been filed in the superior court of the state of california, county of los angeles for, wait for it.... racketeering!.

  that's right, folks, you heard it here first.

  i have no other information, other than the case was stamped "aug 07 2015" and the docket number appears to be bc590675.

  Since the Watchtower bought a luxury property as a translation office on the Gold Coast of Australia, have you any knowledge of what is said to be child sex ring that operates from the Gold Coast that includes some prominent clergymen? It's a two part question.

  Indian Larry, there were other cases claiming confessional exceptions to reporting too. Johnathon Kendricks trial was one of them. The JW woman in California who had a husband that had thousands of chid pornographic images on his computer and went to the police,the elders knew, can't remember the name or details now, but if you need it, I'll locate it.

  Recently, the atty. of the pedo is trying to get him out by claiming the elders shouldn't have reported it because of confidentiality.   just a thought... i wonder if anyone has brought to their attention the recent jw.org video from lett (with very dubious timing) suggesting that any and all media reports about how the org handles abuse are lies from apostates, and how no one is more protective of abuse victims than the org ...seems to me that that video is very damning evidence of their attempt to silence victims from coming forward with complaints - further victimizing and traumatizing them.i hope they have seen that video - and i hope they bring it up.

  i am thoroughly enjoying watching the org squirm.

  If they really want to show how much they appreciate the beloved, they could move them up in rank to be Mediators like the sacred seven.
  
  When the beloved visit the congregations, they could hear confessions and guarantee they'd mediate the matter....for a few dollars of course.

  Orphan Crow, agree totally on bragging about teaching materials. I sent an example of their teaching cartoon that was 1 min. 40 seconds telling the children they have a conscience, they can say no, they can tell their parents, and reassuring them they have Jehovah.
  
  So the child who is probably an expert on guilty conscience, who feels it's their fault in the first place, can disobey the talking back to adults rule and tell the family member or friend "no". They will probably realize it's also ok to also violate the rules about talking about those unmentionable body parts and modesty.
  
  Then the reassurance that "We have Jehovah". Yes, the one who watches all, sees all, hears all, and expects obedience to parents and authority figures and will slay you if you don't follow those rules. Right. That will help.
  
  All the responsibility is put on the child. But, it makes the parents feel better. Now the kids know. Whew. Thanks for the governing body.

  Don't mean to rudely barge in without introduction, but wanted to let you know I registered, first of all to thank everyone for all the useful information you've offered over time.
  
  Have been a lurker to the point of feeling like a voyeur, but have wanted to share during the hearings in Australia. Have contacted them many times with information I had. Would share now, but not sure of the policy on newbies posting links, so for now, will wait except to state quotes of my latest mailings to either Mr. Stewart or the Commission. Special thanks to the poster here who listed those addresses.
  
  One was a statement from Geoffrey Jackson in the August 2015 Watchtower that seemed to me to contradict the original statement offered to officials. It is:
  
  "Since September 2005, I have had the unexpected privilege of serving as a member of the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses. While I can no longer serve as a translator, I thank Jehovah that he allows me to remain involved in supporting the worldwide translation work."
  
  Also included a statement the Commission may be interested in, from the wol version of their official website, a statement that:
  
  "Yes, Satan is the source of the power and authority of human governments. Thus, as the apostle Paul wrote, the true “world rulers” are “wicked spirit forces in the heavenly places,” who control human governments."
