@ Heaven - "The huge impact the JWs have out in their door knocking" is a tongue in cheek title. The May 15 issue illustrates it as such, but we know better don't we... ;-)

I had the pleasure of conducting a telephone interview with "Truth be Told" filmmaker Gregorio Smith yesterday. He is a fascinating, intelligent person and has an intimate knowledge of the destructiveness the Watchtower society has wreaked upon people's lives due to shunning, the blood ban, etc.
Some two years in the making, this full-length documentary film entitled "Truth be Told" seeks to expose the Watchtower for what it is. A debut screening for the public will take place in Brooklyn New York on March 27, 2013. Other major cities will follow. A description of the film from his website follows:
-----
TRUTH BE TOLD – a new feature-length documentary – lifts the veil on the seemingly benign Jehovah’s Witnesses religion to expose a profit-driven, isolationist culture characterized by fear, totalitarian corporate leadership, intellectual & spiritual intimidation, suspension of critical thinking, failed prophecies, doctrinal inconsistency and improper handling of physical and sexual abuse allegations within the church.
See former Jehovah’s Witnesses candidly discuss growing up inside the religion. They reveal experiences including the effects of proselytizing door-to-door, shunning non- observant family and friends, suffering the discouragement of pursuing dreams like gaining a higher education, missing other societal holidays and customs. And more…
Ultimately the film reveals why Jehovah’s Witnesses have the lowest retention rate of any religion with only 37% of those raised as Jehovah’s Witnesses continuing their affiliation with the religion.
-----
We spoke for almost 45 minutes, and he candidly answered many questions about the film's content and distribution, his background being raised as a Jehovah's Witness, and more. I am currently working on integrating the interview into my next YouTube video, so stay tuned.
Let's all support this film! Like it on Facebook, email friends and family about it, etc. The potentially huge impact it could have on current JWs and the former JW community could be tremendous, not to mention the fact that millions of people that think that the JW religion is a quaint, harmless, little group will have their eyes opened to its destructive nature.

I know when they do the tract work for Memorial and Conventions some publishers had said to me, "Oh this is so easy all we have to do is leave it in the door and move on to the next one!"
Very very few JWs actually enjoy the door knocking. They do it out of compulsion and perceived necessity, showing they have only a "form of Godly devotion". (2 Tim 3:5, NWT)

What if you simply IGNORED being disfellowshipped and continued as before?
by Terry ini know this is an odd idea.
maybe it is even silly.. but, i do daydream..... .
what if you were informed that you are disfellowshipped and you flashed a huge smile and said, "nah.".

@ Moshe - You said: " If you think the JWs disfellowshipping & shunning rules are morally right, then do nothing and let them carry on as always."
Outstanding point!! These people only have the power over us that we give them. If all of us that are "cast outs" speak to JWs and say hello, refuse to shun or shy away from them, we take away their power as Terry and Moshe suggest.

Forum Owner and Member Integrity
by Simon insome people recently raised concerns about security of the site relating to whether forum members could be watchtower plants trying to obtain information about people.
apparently, this was because a previous forum that was setup was either owned by or later handed over to someone who used it to collect personal information about people which was then used to harrass them.
i don't know all the details, i'm just paraphrasing what i've heard and recognize that it's a concern to some people.. i want to first of all put people's minds at rest: i've been running this site for what will be 13 years next month.

@ Finkelstein - The conversation took place at the edge of a driveway with people mulling around a yard sale in plain sight. It was not surreptitiously recorded. Gregg simply related his recollection of the conversation to me later that same day, and I turned the recording into a YouTube video.

i'm doing the fade but i reckon my big mouth could get me dfd.
i know plenty who've been dfd for fornication/adultery, but never met one dfd for speaking the truth.

@Lied 2 no more - you said:
I'm planning on producing a "manual" for others to use to defend against the JC process
Go for you! A suggestion is to research all the threads on here about this topic, then compose it, and get everyone's feedback on here and then keep improving it. It could potentially benefit hundreds or even thousands that need it.

@ Simon - Thanks for all you do and continue to do on the site. It's vitally important to many.
@Jgnat - You told Sab:
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proofs, Sabastious. Where is the Watchtower Agent Training Manual? In the wider world, the JW and the ex-JW community aren't even (1%) a blip on the radar screen.
I personally feel that's a mean way to state your opinion but hey I respect your right to be sarcastic, caustic, etc.
Your contributions are appreciated and important, but I do wish you weren't so often negative. That's my piece on that. I'm done.
