When I was in 5th grade, I wanted to develop my 'psychic' powers. I tried to move my pen with my mind and I was staring at it for minutes. I was concentrating sooo hard, focusing mentally on where I wanted the pen to move looking, concentrating, looking..... BAM!
The pen pops-up! I was freaked out! Did I really have psychic powers? Was it true? Could I also develop mind reading powers? I realized something I hadn't noticed before. My pen was on top of my notebook. The notebook was slightly indented downwards. It was the notebook that did the popping-up.
What a disappointment. And yet, that's how detectives solve crimes. Through the laws of physics and nature. In this case, it was mere coincidence and it makes for a good anecdote.

No economic model is every truly sustainable. Economy and civilization is cyclical. Trying to prevent this from toppling is like trying to hold sand in your hands. It just won't work.

i am trying to compile information of how the bite system applies to groups other than the witnesses.
this will help witnesses consider the bite model in a non-threatening manner, because it applies to the 'other guy' and along the way they will see, hopefully, how it applies to their group.. .

Mostly the Bible. But, you now go a step further and say the whole Bible ain't the real deal. Nope. You've quoted scripture, as Twitch pointed out. You like to leave the bad tid-bits out, like the genocides, etc. You haven't really shared your opinion on the bible, word for word, but you've made it patent you believe in YHWH and you like to cite from the NT.

hi my first post.. for the people that grew up in the religon, do you have any memory of being spanked for not sitting still in the meeting?
i see kids acting like kids but the parents take them out and spank them for something like not sitting still.
some of my worst memories are my father taking me out for a beating with a belt or his hand.
I think spanking is ok as long as it isn't taken to an extreme. How else do you discipline a child? Talking doesn't always do it, especially not to a stubborn kid.
I was brought up with the belt, hand, and slipper. I learned that my mother's threats were not in vain and that she meant business.
