  Spankings In The KH Bathroom

  oh, how many times have we heard the loud hard spankings of toddlers' and preschool aged children by their parents for making noise at the meetings echo from inside of the kingdom hall restrooms?

  until now it was a memory i had forgotten, but it really bugs me now.. hunyadi

  There is also a playroom for any child that just must be taken out and "stretched". After the service there is lemonade and cookies for the kiddies; and coffee and cake for the adults. It is a very pleasent; supportive community of people. There are no beatings.

  Never Told Anyone this...

  ... but i think it would help me to relate it now.. a day before a big convention in montreal [i must've been 8 years old] my mother, who was running late as usual, was trying to get ready for an appointment.

  she was frantic and needed the bathroom mirror.

  i'm sitting on the commode and i remember finding a thrown out metal flimsy paper towel rack in the garbage so, i pick it up and i'm trying to bend it around, my mother storms into the bathroom, grabs the towel rack and screams, 'you know i'm in a hurry' and bashes my head in on top!

  I was sent to the mental ward. Why?

  a few months ago, i was sent to the mental ward.

  well, this is how it happened.

  my mom started barking at me for quitting my last job, even though she knew at my last job, i had to go to the psych unit for lockup because i broke down on the job and i couldn't keep it.

  I TOLD AN ELDERS WIFE OFF YESTERDAY!

  just to give you a bit of background: i was diagnosed with uterine cancer a couple of years ago and had to have a hysterectomy.

  naturally i got more support from all my worldly friends and co-workers than what i did from people at the hall, but am used to that by now.

  anyway, a few days ago, someone from the hall told me that sister x (one of the elders wives who is a nosey, back-stabbing bitch) had been saying things about me like "she shouldn't have had a hysterectomy because that's showing disrespect for the reproductive organs that jehovah gave us" and that i apparently was "lacking in faith" by not "leaving it in jehovah's hand" and didn't i read that article in the botchtower or asleep!

  Thing is, the theory wasn't shot down.

  I always thought how interesting it was to see Black folks worship a guy who looks like the lead singer of Nickleback -- without hesitation. His message was the important thing for them. They didn't reject Him based on his skin color.

  Now flip it. Does the same apply? I'm just askin'....

  Me, I am not even sure (open minded) if the Guy even existed. But whether He did or not isn't the important thing for me, ...one thing I do know for sure...I know my Savior looks just like me.
