steve hassan is still practicing his exit counseling/ strategic interaction approach, intervention style.
still 3-5 days with family and friends after days/ weeks of prework.
meetings (other than interventions) that take place in my office on weekdays are $250 per hour.
Steve Hassan is still practicing his Exit Counseling/ Strategic Interaction Approach, Intervention Style. Still 3-5 days with family and friends after days/ weeks of prework. He does plenty of work w/ JW's, although Combatting Cult Mind Control doesn't mention them directly, Releasing the Bonds does mention JW's by name. His website is www.freedomofmind.com. I'm not endorsing him or recomending him; I considered him for my situation, but after discussion with friends/family and members from this board, I don't believe he's right for my situation. So anyways, here is his current fee schedule for anyone interested in him, or learning what his fees look like:
Professional Fees: My consulting fee is $250 per hour. Longer or shorter sessions are pro-rated from this basic fee. This is also the fee for other professional services which you may desire such as: report writing, contact with other service providers, attendance at meetings or consultations, preparation of records or summaries, reading background materials, reading and writing responses to emails (other than very short ones) and telephone conversations, including those with third parties you authorize me to speak to.
You will be billed directly for all professional services and you will be responsible for paying for all services.
I do not wish to be an expert witness. If you become involved in litigation that requires my participation, you will be billed for the time I spend in preparation of and/or attendance at the court, even if I am compelled to testify by another party.
Fees for Sessions at My Office or On the Phone:
Fees for Sessions at Other Locations:
Fees For Interventions Wherever They Take Place:
Travel:
Travel can take a great deal of my productive time so I am forced to bill for time spent traveling, but I discount it to a rate of $100 per hour on weekdays, maximum of $1000 per 24 hour period. Time spent traveling on Saturday or Sunday is billed at $200 per hour, maximum of $2000 per 24 hour period. Time spent traveling on a holiday or holiday weekend is $250 per hour, maximum of $2500 per 24 hour period.
It is my practice to bill for ground transportation, business class air transportation, meals and moderate accommodations. All travel arrangements are made by our office. Non-stop flights are used wherever they are available to minimize per hour travel fees. I am generally available to take flights leaving Boston at 9am or later, and arriving back in Boston before 9pm.
Payments:
You will be expected to pay for each session at the time of the session. You may pay by check or credit card to Freedom of Mind Resource Center Inc. A non-refundable deposit covering the first day of meetings is required to reserve the time on our calendar. For deposits, full-day meetings and interventions, we accept payment by check only.
If your account is more than 60 days overdue, and an arrangement for payment has not been made, I have the option of utilizing a collection agency or court to collect payment. If this action becomes necessary, the cost of bringing the proceeding will be included in the claim.
Cancellation: If you are unable to keep a scheduled appointment, you are responsible for calling the office 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment. If you do not provide sufficient notice, you will be responsible for payment of the missed appointment.

Thanks again for all of the reponses. I certainly welcome anyone else who might be able to help...
so i don't understand it seems to me from the posts that i have read just about everyone is disassociated.. just wondering if that's true or if i am not the only one on here still within the organization..
Happy,
I am not a JW and never have been. I am currently having at-home bible studies w/ an Elder from the local congregation.
I know this thread is full of a lot of advice and warnings, and that you must be feeling a bit confused. I'll try not to add too much to the confusion you're experiencing, but I would very strongly recomend that you read these two articles:
As some of the others have said, it is very important that you take a step back, critically examine your situation from both sides and make an truly informed decision, becuase it will affect the rest of your life. You've been with these JW's for a while, so ask them to respect your space for a while and examine this from both sides.
Best of Luck-
new here; this is my first post.
i signed up with the hope of getting some of your thoughts regarding how to proceed with an ongoing situation.
a little background: i have been baptized for about twenty years, or is it twenty-one, i can't recall.
INDY,
I have read about and heard of many stories like your own. What you are experiencing now, is what I am trying to prevent for myself in the future.
I have never been one of Jehovah's Witnesses, but I'm very familar with the organization and have done a lot of research (both Watchtower literature and other sources). The way I understand it, since I've never been in, I'm not an apostate. So if you'd like to talk or want any help with resources, please let me know I'd be glad to do anything I can.
I think what people have said on here is right, at least you know now... And you know what is right.
Send me a PM if you'd like to talk.

Thanks again to everyone who has responded. I believe in her, she's bright and intelligent and I know under the right circumstances she can at least see it for what it is. Like I said before, I think that I've damaged my ability to get through to her becuase of my attacks on the Watchtower, if I knew earlier what I know now, I would have done a lot of things differently.
Terry & James: I can make next weekend work if you guys can meet, please let me know what works for you.
SBC: I look forward to your email.

Let me add one more thing... I would glady spend the $20k (I'm not sure where it would come from) if I KNEW it would work. I still may, I still may go with Hassan, he seems to be the best counselor in the world for this kind of stuff. One of my major concerns is that she trusts me now, will snapping her out of it, to the tune of $20k ruin that trust? It might, start our lives together $20k in the hole becuase her parents decided to raise her JW? I love her no doubt and I have heard from others just to walk away... Unfortuanly, I can't do that - I know that I may seriously regret it one day, but I don't want to give up on her. Thanks everyone.

Thanks again for the responses. I have read Hassan's books and in fact I've spoken to him about this situation. He recomends having him (him only) do what he's now calling an intervention... To the tune of somewhere near $20,000. I know I've done some damage to her and to our relationship by attacking the watchtower, but I know that a big part of her wants to really figure it out, but I may not be the person that can take her there.

Thanks for all of the responses so far... I guess I should add that if anyone knows of an "exit-counselor" in the area or even if someone has a lot of experience with this kind of thing I would certainly be willing to pay for their time.

Hi Guys, I'm new to the forum.
I'm looking for anyone in the Dallas area that has left JW's for any reason and has since learned the real truth about The Watchtower and JW Doctrine. I've never been involved with JW myself, but my fiancee grew up as a JW and is having thoughts of going back. She means the world to me and I would like for her to get some perspective from the other side. I've studied hundreds of pages of Watchtower literature, read almost all of the recomended books and exposes, but throwing the false prophecies, twisted truths and hypocracies of the The Wacthtower in her face seem to just push her back.
If you're in the area and wouldn't mind potentially helping out, please email me at: [email protected]
Thanks so much in advance...
