LL7. Do I have to return Watchtower Library 2001 to the congregation if I am disfellowshipped?
No, this only applies to elders who resign and return their copy of the Pay Attention book. You can keep your copy of Watchtower Library on CD. But you understand, that since you are no longer considered to be one of Jehovah's Witnesses, you may only use your CD again after the announcement of your reinstatement has been made to the congregation.

Public opinion on the issue of Iraq???
by Celtic inwhen prime minister tony blair was 'summoned' to camp david a couple of day's ago, he looked succinctly uncomfortable when doing a press interview with president bush.
today, the prime minister faces the tuc conference, the main agenda covering the impending war on iraq.
british public opinion is very much for the action to not take place against iraq.

question
by Realist ini have a short question.. while you were in the truth would have been impressed by the quotes on the quotes.jehovahswitnesses.com page about 1914 and all the other wrong prophecies or would you have simply ignored or denied the accuracy of the quotes?.
would that have caused doubts or would you have found a way to rationalize the obvious lies?.
thanks a lot!.

link,
I 'try to get others to believe what I believe not what I do not believe' and I work hard to practice what I believe. The simple fact that others do not live up to what they profess to believe doesn't make it wrong in the first place.
Salvation at Armageddon is not my motivation, making the heart of my creator rejoice by imitating his son's example is.

Believe it or not: it is possible to read CoC and become a baptized witness thereafter.
If you are raised in a witness family with roots back in the 30s there is nothing unheard of. Even 1975 was awaited with some kind of skepticism. So if you have such a back history you want to make sure of what you do before you get baptized, as the WTS encourages one to do. Thus one comes across unbiased information at the public library which contains information based in part on apostate literature. Knowing both sides one is able to make an informed decision, which can still be to become a JW, although you know of the inconsistencies and imperfections.
But to this day I have not found a sound alternative.

What org rules were stupid to you?
by MARTINLEYSHON inwhen i was in the truth i thought that the most ludicrous and petty ruling they ever introduced and still practiced is that congregation book study conductors were and are responsible for collecting every group members report.
surely every member ought to be responsible for his/her own actions.
at the beginning of the following month and certainly before the 5th i would always receive the stupid telephone call from the secretary are you aware that 3 publishers havent reported?

Sorry Martin,
I guess ozzie has it right, but many congregations handled matters as yours did, to facilitate things.
So the new light at this years' KMS was nothing really new.

Why Are JWs Allowed To Ignore Immigration Laws?
by ErieGuy inwe all know how the wts loves to toot their own horn about how jws are the most law abidding citizens in the world.
so then, why does the wts tolerate (encourage by its own inaction) the continuous ignorance of immigration laws?.
i have personally observed a whole host of illegal former canadians, mexicans, and central/south americans in congregations scatttered throughout the u.s. is the withholding of "privileges" sufficient conduct by those god told to obey all laws not conflicting wih his own?

The change in policy came also to Europe 10 yrs ago.
But by communication via COs the former rules are now applied again.
