The reason I ask is that I went out with some JW family to the movies recently and just for kicks I suggested we go watch the Smurfs just to see how they would react. Everyone was very resoundingly against going to watch it. Everyone is being pretty dismissive, at least on my side of the family, about my not attending meetings anymore so they didn't try to tear me down about my suggestion, nor did they offer a reason why they were against the movie. So, my question is if the borg is still against the Smurfs and if so, are they still offering the same lame and unfounded excuse that they are demonic to save face? Have they polished their reasons to discourage watching the movie? Refined their stance in any way? Is it something the borg has mentioned at all or is it just that the older generations that have kept the old urban legend alive? Or are they managing to keep ther foot out of their mouth by not mentioning the movie at all? Thanks in advance for the insight!

Apostafest weekend
by fade_away inthis weekend has been awesome!!
ok the apostafest consisted of only 3 people, but it was a weekend to let out all the supressed emotions from 26 years of wt slavery.
we went to a heavy metal concert in a pit full of moshing and crowd surfing, screaming along to their lyrics (my throat is sore).

this weekend was the best ever! we had so much fun at the concert and I cant wait for the one next year! lets live it up and enjoy life. I am glad we had a blast.

I have to admit, I often miss some things like having an excuse to dress up nice for the meetings and I loved getting up early to prepare for the drive to the Circuit conventions, staying at a hotel, and seeing all the beautiful girls parading around looking for guys. equally as entertaining was making fun of the fashion disasters that often occured as well. The parties were often fun. I went to spanish congregations growing up and the get togethers were susually not lame. there was salsa, merengue, bachata dancing which was always pretty cool but none of the men knew how to dance so I was always made to lead. I missed it so much that when I got out I went out and took dance classes.

Lol! What makes this better is that he calls himself a pastor. they are just giving the bloody title away. Pastor used to mean you had formal education. I mean just look at the way the guy expresses himself! I guess elders are not the only ones that can be underqualified and still be religious leaders..

here's one that reminds me of my wonderful father who used to play this song amazingly. I didn't have him nearly enough in my life growing up and to this day still miss terribly. I am brought to tears even now, as I hear this song.

so, this guy is claiming that Atheists are comparable to sex offenders. In following that vein, I guess it balances out then because there are so many religious leaders that actually are sex offenders. Low blow? yes maybe, but I couldnt resist!

I was just so amazed when I stumbled upon this little gem that I actually read it twice to make sure I had read it right! But in all seriousness, it seems like when global climate starts to get a tad bit dicey, (war, terrorism, bad economy, what have you...) people cling to religion more. Take the Dark Ages and the ascent of Christianity.. What if all these religiots got together and made it so they got their way? We all saw what happened when the U.S. conservatives got together and reached their meddling little mitts into Canada to make pot illegal again just because it made them uncomfortable. I know its a long shot but I humor the idea for two seconds just out of sheer boredom...
