My thoughts and prayers go out to you. You know what happened to you is the made up example that I told people after I left. I would explain why the Organization changing their stand on the blood is such a huge deal. It was one of the things that opened mine and my son's eyes to leave. It is so hard when you leave behind family especially children. Truly my heart does ache for you. I'm so glad to see you haven't lost your faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, which is where our faith should have been all along, not in an organization. lv4fer

what is the weirdest counsel you ever received?
by nb-dfed inmy husband and i had a committee meeting because of underage drinking.
when he was being counseled, the p.o.
told my husband that he needed to make me wear different clothes to the meeting because it made some of the brothers unable to concentrate.

When I was talking to the elders and questioning some of the JW beliefs and I had puzzled them, the one elder responded, "You know what your problem is, you think too much". So that is my downfall and why I left the JW's. I think too much!

Yes, I'm a Christian and proud of it! I'm so glad to be out of the JW's, but I can't help but wonder why god let me be sucked into it. I'm sure there is a reason. OR maybe I was just stupid and my brain went numb for 15 or so years! I have so many regrets. I lost years of fellowship with my family who I distanced myself with while I was in. I can only say I'm so happy I'm out now.

What First Stumbled You?
by glitter inwhat was the very first thing that "stumbled" you?
mine was: i was about 5 or 6 years old and of course i used to find it really hard to find things in my bible at meetings (couldn't find the books quick enough before they moved onto the next paragraph and used to get frustrated).
i had the idea to make little tabs for the edges of the pages so i could tell where the books were - so i asked mum to help me neatly write out the book names on tiny slips of paper and tape them inside.

Oh my god reading some of your stories just breaks my heart! I started having serious doubts when I started doing some research for a talk on 1914 and I did some research on the 607 BCE and I thought I'd be studious and look up some information on the internet, I came across the 587vs607BCE web site and when I realized that was wrong then it gave me the courage to start questioning other things I had doubts about.

I like your letter. It is to the point, but yet it gives them something to think about. Good luck in your future endeavors. The road ahead is not easy and its so hard to have to leave family and friends behind. Very painful to say the least. But staying in is more painful, for me it would have driven me insane.

Mine was sort of a slow process. It took me almost a year to say that's it I'm never going back. The only reason it took me that long was because of my kids, I knew they would loose all their friends and I didn't want to adversely effect them. When I finally convinced my husband by showing him scriptures and he made up his mind he went and told his mom and she went to the elders and well................there was no choice but to leave then. It was very hard for my kids because they didn't have and friends other than other JW's and they were both in high school. It has been two years and we are doing OK> we just moved to Las Vegas from California and that decision was partly made to try and start a new life away from all the JW's that we once knew. It really bothered my husband when his friends since childhood shunned him so we moved away from all of them.
