  My Mom just passed away.

  dear friends.

  i've posted earlier this year that my mom suffered a stroke.

  i just got the news that she passed away this evening.

  Refusing to eat Lucky Charms cereal...

  as i sit here eat my favorite cereal for breakfast, i remember a time when it used to offend me to eat lucky charms.

  .

  anyone else have an experience of things you used to "offend" you??

  Yes, we did the Pop Tart thing (mmmm...strawberry) and the toaster waffles as well. All things I didn't allow my own kids to partake of. My oldest son was hyperactive... sugar and preservative restrictions were the key for us in managing it without medications.

  Yuk!!!!!!

  My sister ate Lucky Charms and Apple Jacks by the bucket full but I always found them to be much too sweet.. I could do Trix and Cocoa Puffs but preferred Raison Brand and Shreaded Wheat...magically nutritious!

  i know we've all had the usual salty delights placed along the beer slickened runways of our favorite and not so favorite watering holes...(pretzels, peanuts and popcorn etc....)

  but have you ever visted an establishment that veered just a tad from the traditional?

  i know of a place that always has bags of saltine crackers and squeeze mustard placed along the bar and a tables.

  what is the weirdest counsel you ever received?

  my husband and i had a committee meeting because of underage drinking.

  when he was being counseled, the p.o.

  told my husband that he needed to make me wear different clothes to the meeting because it made some of the brothers unable to concentrate.

I know of a place that always has bags of saltine crackers and squeeze mustard placed along the bar and a tables. A "Jackson's" tradition, they tell me....LOL! I just left a place that had bowls of radishes and cucumbers marinated in vinegar along with a little chex mix. I inquired of the barkeep about the pecular offering and was told that the owner had a large garden and detested waste...I suppose fried zucchini will be forthcoming!

  So...have you ever experienced an unusual tavern snack? If not... what's your preference... rods, sticks or twists?
