so, adam sinned, was unplugged from whatever, and slowly wound down and died.. satan sinned too.

so why wasnt he unplugged, and slowly wound down, to an eventual death as well?.

it seems that, left to nature, he will never die, as eventually god is going to have to destroy him..

That is a great question! Could the explanation be in the fact that Adam was human, but Satan is a spirit? Also, the WaterTower Bovine & Tractor Society would say that Adam's sin had nothing to do with divine soverignty but Satan's rebellion did raise this issue, so God had to let Satan continue to exist to settle that issue. (Hasn't it been settled yet? Seems to me human suffering and death could be halted at any time now, I wouldn't object). Any difficult question can be rational-lied by the WTB&TS.

Here's another question: The Israelites left Egypt with a great supply of Egyptian livestock. Yet in a short time they had no food and needer manna. What happened to all that livestock?

on the news the other day they showed a young man after graduating from high school went out and got drunk and had a bad car accident.

he was paralyze from the waist down.

instead of going into deep depression of what he did to himself he started his life over and went to college and was involved in inventing a exoskeleton for disable people.

The question offered for discussion was: Would the world be a better place if everyone was a JW? My opinion is yes. Are they perfect? No. Are there wife beaters among JWs? Yes. In my experience, and I've known both JWs and non-JWs equally, I'd rather deal with the imperfections of the JWs than those of the general worldly person IF just ONE group comprised the entire world population. THINK about the original question and don't take my response out of context, like many here accuse the WT of doing with Bible passages.

Also, I've never known a Witness who expects to fight at armageddon. That's bs. Remember the old saying " What if there was a war and nobody showed up?" Do JWs engage in war? Their long standing belief is that any destruction that comes will be by God & His forces. And if armageddon happens, none of us can stop it.

The more important question is this: Are Jehovah's Witnesses' teachings true? If they are true, then medical advances will be obsolete after Armageddon. Why? Because everyone will be healed and sickness will be no more. If they are not true, then it will be centuries, if ever, that medical advances will make a dent in human infirmity. This exoskeletal device, how much does it cost? How many can afford to pay for all these great medical advances or scientific advances? Only a minute portion of mankind.

Would the world be a better place if everybody was a JW? Honestly, yes. At least they are non-violent. And against warfare. Ask the people in Afganistan and Irac if they like war. I don't think it matters if you like JWs or not, it would be better if everybody had the same belief system.

Wow, that was fun.

Zone overseer visit in middle Europe Lösch GB member talk

thousands of witnesses carried by car or mostly busses joined the great worship of the gb, oh sorry jehovah.. here is a short summary of the talk given by losch: (my thoughts in brackets).

1) the beginning was mostly about closing branches, kingdom halls etc, but all a proof of gods spirit of course.. then some experiences, you find in a yearbook type as well,.

2) obey the slave, even if you dont fully understand, he compared it with a child trusting their parents (quit condescending, sheeple are like dumb children, mama org will think for them).

Losch is very much of the gestapo mentality. Some years ago, he visited the branch in Costa Rica. My friend was an overseer there. He told me that Losch was rude and demanding, acting like a king among peasants. Losch is very arrogant. (Garrett, are you getting this?)

Watched this last night. What a sad story, although very common within the watchtower. Most of these kids get baptized young, without really being dedicated. The whole disfellowshipping thing is twisted. The Bible says to stop associating with anyone "called a brother". So, if someone wants to quit being called a 'brother' or a 'sister', they should have that choice. Read the Bible, free choice is a sacred right. Make a choice, accept the responsibility. Shunning rarely moves someone to come back. Usually it makes the person more bitter and hurt. Love never fails, but shunning is not love. One thing I noticed about the movie was that Sara said to her father that she never contradicted the elders. Then she was seen telling her brother that Armageddon was not true, it was a lie. If she wants to make her own decision, then she should let her brother make his own.

And how about the brother (elder?) with the beard? Very unusual, in my experience.

I was an elder for 15 years. I wish I could go back and undo all the harm that I caused. I wish I had never agreed to disfellowship anyone. I wish I had known what love is.

Society putting out "Want ads" in BOE letters

it seems the society has a severe enough shortage of help in some areas that it is asking for help thru all the us boes.. there is one recent letter circulating asking for volunteers who can work on a persian translation team to move to "britain".

elders are to track down anyone who speaks persian & english, and ascertain their willinglness to move to bethel in london to help there.

there's a bunch of the standard "in good standing" questions they are to ask, as well as immigration / citizenship / visa issues to work out.. also, they are looking for programmers who know silverlight & xaml to work on a project for software the rbcs are using.. .

Clarity, thank you for your comment. Are you ALL ears or do you have other body parts?

Yes, I have some stories to tell. I knew Ray Franz, Fred Franz, Swingle, Greenlees, Couch and others. I was young and unable to evaluate the things I saw and heard. I later worked at WTF and have some great stories about misdeeds there. However, I can't tell these stories for free. I'm too poor, thanks to my volunteer service with a full lack of benefits. So, maybe I'll write a book and sell it. Anybody want to subsidize me while I do the writing? Hehe.

it seems the society has a severe enough shortage of help in some areas that it is asking for help thru all the us boes.. there is one recent letter circulating asking for volunteers who can work on a persian translation team to move to "britain".

A good job? Right now, a good job would provide room and board. However, I can't speak Persian. Or any foreign language. I grew up as a witness in the 60's, and college was out of the question. I did spend 4 years at Brooklyn bethel making 14 dollars a month, plus room and board. I learned many skills that were totally worthless in the 'world' of the damned. But now, if you ignored the watchtower counsel & went to college and learned a valuable skill, well, step right up! I even heard the the society sent Judas Schroeder to college to get a degree. Wow, what an advantage it is to have a famous pharisee for a father. Am I bitter? Damned right I am! The stories I could tell.

i once read an observation as a teenager that i never forgot.

i called it the "verboten" principle.. in nazi germany, as with other totalitarian systems, there is a tendency to vastly multiply signs that read "verboten!

Be reasonable. Some things ARE bad, such as porn. Do you want your adolescent child or your teenager watching it? I hope not. The problem is that the WT is a "judgemental" organization, and has become a nitpicky group, like the Pharisees. They strain out the gnat and gulp down the camel. What would happen if they applied the same thinking about other religions to themselves? They have bad men in positions of responsibility. Doesn't a little leaven spoil the whole lump? Aren't there those who have a form of godly devotion but prove false to it's power? What would happen to their preaching if they eliminated the unscriptural practice of counting time? How many elders and ms would fail to put in the standard 10 hours of driving around in their cars trying to avoid getting out and talking to people? The list could go on and on.

But to be fair, where else have you ever heard about God's Kingdom? What other hope is there? Do you think human governments will ever solve our problems?

What I see here is an example of mindless Watchtower bashing. Be fair, everything the Watchtower warns against isn't without basis.
