  first off, i want to say that i am very grateful for this place where i can speak whatevers on my mind.

  ive often been amazed at the role that the wtbts & gb put themselves into, all the while claiming that they are not promoting their own standards, and understandings.

  heres just a little research ive done lately on what it means to be a sect.

  Prediction time, again?

  most of us are aware of the number of times the wtbts has made predictions that have failed to come to pass... 1881, 1914, 1918, 1920, 1925, 1935, 1945, the big 1975, to mention just a few and there was also one in 1983, i am led to believe?

  i would be interested to hear more about that one as i am not aware of this one!.

  q: is it true that about 6 years ago the wtbts announced that it would be making no more "claims" about when we could expect the end of the world... at least it would no longer be specifying dates.

  I don’t think there was ever a published statement in the sense that you wrote, but I do believe this is the “essence” of what you have mentioned:

  great post, in every part of it.
  What I call a good "psycological insight" is :

  "It (the WTS) has predicted the implementation of this solution within a decade or so from its many different announcements of this soon-to-come solution. Many people who might otherwise be somewhat skeptical have been willing to risk ten years or less of their lives to realize such a grand promise offered by the Watchtower Society. Had they promised this grand reward to occur in say 30, 50 or a hundred years, their rate of success in achieving converts would have been greatly lessened."

  In my humble opinion, a very, very true statement...in reality
  it deceived many..!

  you have raised many interesting and thought
  provoking point with your post. I just want to tell you that
  I share th opinion of Professor, in most of his answers and to
  conclude my two key " positions " for the WTS in the near future
  are: (1)
  numbers of " regular " publishers declining;
  (2)
  the moneoney situation, not only the assets but also how many more will be able to KNOW that a "non profit association/society has so
  much money and does almost nothing for the needy ones - forget outside
  the congregations, but even inside them -.
