Who dares compare the holy Kiwi language with that defilement of English the Aussies speak?

If you claim a divine miracle in your life, you will be disfellowshipped!!!
by free2beme inone of the key things i have noticed since leaving the witnesses and interacting with other faiths, is that they often mention the word "miracle!
" in that they will claim that their god had performed some sort of miracle in their life that brought about something amazing.
it is not always christians who say this either, as many of my "pagan" friends and myself have had spirit driven moments that were something that could not be displaced as "chance.

If you claim a divine miracle in your life, you should be committed. You're nuts!!

I've consulted online dictionaries to no avail. I've even Googled the word, and found a handful of uses of it, but the meaning remains elusive.
Three Questions:
1. Have you ever heard of it?
2. If yes, what does it mean?
3. Can you please give a sentence which uses it in context?
Note, the client is not using the word in a gambling context, i.e. "To join this blackjack game the tablestake is $200."
Thanks,

Are the demons harassing you?
by Gill ini found this particular article in the 'questions from readers' section of the april 15th 2006, watchtower, incredibly shallow and non specific.
it did not define what a jw was to consider a 'demon attack' and could well explain why the average jw considers their car breaking down, on their way to fs an out and out attack from satan and his deemunz!.
the question was:.

Hellrider:
*** It`s reenactments of the experiences of people who have lived in houses that were haunted. ***
Exactly, in other words people reenacting things they *imagined* to be true. Doesn't make it real, just imagination.

***Watch the TV-series "A Haunting" on the Discovery Channel. Great show. My agnosticism was approaching atheism until I started watching that show...now I`m back to the..."there might be things we can`t see/know about"-state.***
You must be gullible in the extreme! It must be true, it was on TV. :-)

Ctrl, Alt, Delete.....
by bikerchic indo you some times wish you had a go back button on your life as a jw?

I totally agree Higlander.
I'd go back in time and do my level best to stop my grandmother from taking a "Let God be True" book from a JW. That event started the family on the slippery slide to dubdom, which sadly, most of them are still on.

What do you swear on?
by Gretchen956 ini was watching a tv program where someone was swearing an oath to tell the truth and nothing but the truth, their hand on the bible.
now i know that there are a lot of christians here, and that wouldn't be a problem for them.
but what about the rest of you?

I recently served on a jury and everyone was given the option to swear on a bible or make an affirmation to tell the truth yada yada yada, which didn't involve God or any other mythical supernatural being. I made the affrimation.

God is simply a belief, an imagination, an invention of the human mind.
There is no evidence that god exists, therefore he does NOT exist. The complete lack of evidence over all of human history is proof he does not exist. I don't go with the agnostic view that "there's no evidence that god exists, therefore he might".
I am convinced that those who have had some kind of "personal revelation" have either faulty brain chemistry, are delusional, or just plain nuts. Some choose to believe in god because they can't cope with reality without a crutch. Many (like a good percentage of JW's) say they believe in god but in reality don't. I was one of those, which flies in the face of "Elders are appointed by Holy Spirit" eh. :-)
But hey, if belief in the delusion of god helps you cope with life a little easier, then who am I to judge? Just don't try to impose your belief on me, and stay out of politics.
