  I had previously browsed most of the DESA Section webpages, but I wanted to take another look before pointing out that the WTS is not also a NGO in DESA. I see you have deleted the inquiry.

  However, the NGO application time period for DESA "may" equate to the same for DPI. To be considered in 2002, a DESA-NGO must have had their app completed by June 2001. Obviously, DPI may be different, or may have been different in the late 80s/early 90s.

  It might be interesting to know both the exact date of the WTS's original application, as well as the exact date of approval, so such dates can be compared to Awake articles during 1989-91.

  WILL THE NEXT UNDPI CALLERS PLEASE TRY TO FIND OUT THESE TWO DATES?

  UN Info Distribution

  a day or so prior to gc.com shutting down, one of their members posted a warning that they had received an "apostate email", entitled "united nations".

  the poster said that he had deleted it without reading it, (i guess they have esp over there) and warned others to do the same.

  i believe that the poster also said that all gc members probably got such because they didn't use that particular address except for gc stuff.. i haven't seen a similar post on gc.net or wol thus far.. can i assume that someone here has already emailed everyone at gc and wol?

  The "positive" is that needy people are receiving help.

  The "negative" is that this is all part of the WTS's PR scheme to look like a "mainstream religion" to the European community. The efforts and money spent in this PR scheme is pennies compared to the tax bill owing to the government of France. (What is the status of that tax situation?)

  "GET THE WBTS OUT OF THE UN" Pickets

  since it has been several years since i attended an assembly/convention, i don't know if some of you folks are still picketing such, .

  the upcoming special assembly this sunday would seem to be a great opportunity to spread this un issue to the jw r&f.. can't you just hear the "buzz" in the hallways:.

  "why are the apostates holding signs saying, 'get the wbts out of the un'"?.

  Your mention of "flyers" made me recall some earlier discussions of folks putting various posters on telephone poles near KHs.

  This UN issue would make great "sound-bite" posters for such, and again would expose JWs who would not otherwise be exposed until the WTS attempts their coverup.

  DON'T MISQUOTE UN-DPI WEBPAGE!

  below is the first heading from the un-dpi-ngo webpage.. i have noticed that folks here have misquoted this section several times.. please read this carefully!.

  what is an ngo?.

  a non-governmental organization (ngo) is any non-profit, voluntary citizens' group which is organized on a local, national or international level.

  Just bumping this healthy reminder back to the top.

  Thanks to all for their varied work in promoting this issue. Remember that noone really knows the longterm effect that this will have on individual JWs, or how many people that JW may tell.

  If you tell only one JW, you may get more/better results than someone who has communicated with dozens or even hundreds.

  Just remember to keep your facts accurate and truthful. The only "out" the WTS has on this one is the "out" you hand them!

  About 3-4 weeks ago, I tried to get the folks who know to post all the locations and times of these "special meetings", but Esmerelda and some other idiots turned it into a "MadApostate is a Troll trying to see who knows what" thread.

  Regardless of such stupidity, I assume those people who regularly "picket" have found out such info "behind the scenes here". The problem is that they might have had some newbies who would have joined them if they weren't so paranoid and clannish.

  I do know that the Silverdome has been mentioned. I guess at this point, any newbie that would want to picket could call their local sports facility and see what event is scheduled for Sunday.

  Picketing with "sound-bite" slogans, such as WBTS RIDES UN WILD BEAST, WBTS IN BED WITH UN, WBTS PARTNERS WITH UN, WBTS MOUNTS UN IN 1991, ETC would be an effective way to expose thousands of JWs to this issue using only an hour or so before and after this event.

  It has not been that many years that I observed picketers at both a DC and a CA. The question is whether the people who do such regularly are regulars here?

  I think such would be EXTREMELY effective. The seasoned R&F have it ingrained in them that the UN is an EVIL ORGANIZATION. Thay also know that former JWs are familiar with such.

  SO, if the R&F all the sudden sees slogans which run counter to "JW common sense", they couldn't help but be curious why "apostates would be so stupid".

  Actually, the seeming "stupidity" of such slogans might even make the JWs drop their guard and start openingly discussing how "stupid" apostates are.

  Imagine if one of the speakers then comments how stupid it is for apostates to be accusing the WTS of being connected to the UN. Then, weeks/months from now, when the WTS is forced to publicly acknowledge such to the R&F, the earlier denials will be recalled, and Apostates may start to look "smarter" to the R&F.

  I suspect "the reporter" may just have been some xjw.

  However, this does raise another good angle.

  Those who put together well-documented emails (comparing/contrasting the WTS's stand on the UN and human rights versus their condemnation of UN, as well as how the WTS violates HR) to DPI may want to copy those same emails to AP, UPI, CNN, and other news services.

  Thanks for the vote of confidence. I believe that when I first started posting here I posted some of my background. I'm sure that Alan, Farkel, MSIL, Tina, and other have that post copied, but allow me to repeat such.

  I have not officially been DFed, nor have I DAed. However, all but a couple of my JW family, and the whole Cong treat me as DFed. I have not been to ANY JW function in several years, and have not been out in FS for many years. Without going into specifics, the WTS has destroyed my life, which had well-above-average potential.

  Obviously, I have a vendetta. However, I REFUSE to purposefully stoop to the level of fighting the WTS using half-truths or outright lies. As I have demonstrated here, if I see something that I think is incorrect, I will try to correct such regardless of whether the correction is pro or con the WTS. It is my sincere belief that short term gains via erroneous info later leads to longterm loses.

  I'll step down off the stump.
