i went to borders yesterday to buy a book and this borders happens to be next door to petsmart, as i'm driving in i notice a group of people with dogs and i realize it's adopt a pet sunday, i love animals so i made a mental note to go by and see the dogs.
so fifteen minutes later, i spot her sitting by herself in a corner and i'm in love.
her name is peaches, i called her and she ran up to me a licked my hand.
Cute pup! My only experience with Jack Russell's was with a neighbors dog. Sweet disposition, but soooo full of energy. They left the dog alone in the yard a lot - so it followed its nature by digging holes throughout the back yard. yesterday was the day - that my marriage of over 10 1/2 years to my jw wife was dissolved....finally.... - i am in a terrific mood today!
my wife and i have joint physical and legal custody of the kids which is awesome!
she doesn't make them go to meetings or go out in service and she has to allow all extra carricular activities.
Sounds like you made the best out of a difficult situation. Happy that you and your children can lead "normal" lives now. No boring meetings, or mind numbing knocking on doors! Use the time to bond and discover LIFE!! Cheers.
last year on this date... i was burned out as an elder, school overseer, book study overseer, etc... my monday nights were shepherding calls, phone calls, judicial committe meetings.
tuesday nights i conducted the theocratic ministry school and usually had a service meeting part.
wednesday nights i had a bible study with a family from the territory.
Couldn't you have waited just a little longer for the new system to do those things? : ) I can totally relate to your post. The treadmill we were on caused me in time to NOT look forward to weekends, when I really should have. Very happy for you and your kids. Normal is GOOD!

these two opportunists (there is no other word) have set race relations in the us back 100 years.
if only they had teamed up to encourage and facilitate education and job opportunities for their constituents as vigorously as they have advocated on behalf of casual and career criminals - we'd have a better outcome for all concerned.
Whether you agree with Sharpton or Jackson's methods, the real "lost opportunity" was the way the local DA handled the situation. He could have condemned the noose incident soundly instead of labeling it as a "meer prank". The tree should have been cut down immediately. Soooooooo much wrong on so many levels - on both sides. Holding some town meetings, open up some dialogue to try and bring the community together could very well have squelched further tension and violence. Sharpton and Jackson - did what they do best, but you could also say that the way those in a position of power in Jena was ALSO BIDNESS AS USUAL. Racial injustice needs to be stopped everywhere. Bringing in the media to cover protests and marches for equality is a good start IMO!

Wow - that is a good list, and for the most part very accurately portrays the little town of about 5,000 that I grew up in.
The Dairy Queen and the A & W (complete with roller skate girls that brought a tray of food to hang on your car window)were the main places to hang out and meet people.
20 years after I left the population "soared" to over 10,000 and they finally got a McDonalds, Burger King and a very nice golf course/community on the outskirts of town.
Oh, and BTW Jim Gaffigan, one of my favorite comedians grew up there as well.

o/t My wife had a great idea the other day. The next time we get JW's knocking at the door, she wants me to start playing a few songs that I still know from memory. (the piano is very close to the front door).
If they knock again, I am to stop playing and yell< "Please come back another time....I am composing some original music here and cannot be disturbed!!!" Oh well, it was funny when we were polishing off that pitcher of margharita's!
