having had my 1-2-1 with my boss yesterday on my performance in managing an acute surgical ward, she informs me that she expects me to commence a course in critical care at degree level commencing september.
the reason being our surgical ward is being converted into a high dependancy unit (like an itu) and she wants me to manage it and gain the necessary skills.
i already have a diploma in higher ed.

(Nursing Studies) but I am crapping myself at the thought of having to start another course at degree level....all the disertations and presentations......YIKES!!! Not sure I can hack this.
Its 13 years since I did my initial nurse training...... oh lordy.
Has anyone else here completed a degree? and how was it?

this is the time of year for the "awards" shows.
we have witnessed seen the people's choice awards, the golden globe awards, and the academy award nominations were announced today.
i think it is time for the jwd awards.. every nominee is a winner.
I never thought I'd say it, but I would thank Valis. He's not the creep I once thought he was!! He gets the "Misjudged Long haired One" Award
Chris and Nina ALWAYS get my thumbs up, they get the "Lovely People" Award.

that comment has been made a number of times.

I agree with you there.

I'm not sure if thats altogether true Minimus, its a bit of a broad sweeping statement to say that Witnesses can't show love or human kindess like Christ. I think they can and often do. What is wrong I think is that in a controlled environment such as the KH and at a meeting, the d/f one has to go through this procedure in order to be re-instated.
Do I think that Witnesses as a whole show love? YES
Do I think that the treatment of those seeking re-instatement at the back of the hall is right? NO

Thought it sticks in my throat to critisise JWs ...(lol) I must admit, when I saw a person sat at the back of the Kingdom Hall who had clearly taken alot of time and made an effort to attend after being d/f, I would go out of my way to smile at them and let them know that I cared, even when most of the cong had them on ignore.
I always thought that it wasn't right to ostracise someone in this way.

Careful SK, us Brits are only on episode 4!! you must be way ahead......!
having never felt "anger" as such toward jws or the organisation myself, it is apparent that many here do.
sometimes just by reading the thread title it is clear in many how they feel, so for more seasoned posters, or maybe those who have been out longer, how long does this anger take to fade, if it ever does.
maybe you never felt like that anyway.

Maybe you never felt like that anyway. Was the anger replaced by another emotion, maybe relief, joy, happiness or conversly, anxiety, stress and un-happiness?? Or did it become for you just a lesson learned and a closed book in your life?
