How do you deal with "Anxiety"
by ScoobySnax inhave you ever had anxiety?
i don't mean general anxiety you get before an exam or an interview, i mean anxiety out of the blue that seems to hit you when you can be in a warm pleasant atmosphere.......a feeling like you just have to get up and go.
sometimes its terrifying, hyperventillating, can't get your breath, feel like everything is closing in around you.

Like I said, I think its a funny thing. I can be fine for days, and then wham it hits me, it is literally breath taking in how it makes you feel, I don't think unless you've felt it, you know quite how it feels. I had a really bad run in 1999, everything seemed to go wrong in my life, I thought I was coping, until I got that first whammy. It seemed like too much had built up for too long without me realising.
Anyway, Its good to know that I'm not alone, and if anyone has felt like I have sometimes, know that you're not alone.

aww thanks for your concern Eliie, but I really don't feel I need medication or to see a specialist. I can deal with it, even if sometimes it feels overpowering. I know when to say STOP and when to give myself some time. I can imagine that OCD is a dreadful thing to live with though Ellie, and I wish you every best wish.

Smiling here .....thanks for that
You know I've watched people in shopping centres when I've felt like running out, and thought, why don't they feel like I do inside, how do they cope with it. The crowds, the heat, the bussle.
A good book that did help me was Dr. Claire Weekes as I think Blueblades mentioned.
Anyway thankyou.

Have you ever had Anxiety? I don't mean general anxiety you get before an exam or an interview, I mean anxiety out of the blue that seems to hit you when you can be in a warm pleasant atmosphere.......a feeling like you just have to get up and go. Sometimes its terrifying, hyperventillating, can't get your breath, feel like everything is closing in around you. Then just when you think you can't cope anymore, it goes. And you think what the f**k was that all about.
Have you experienced this, and if so, how do you deal with it?

Jehovah's Witnesses as "a people......"
by ScoobySnax inwho out of all you nasty old apostates (tm) will agree with me, that if you take the gb that you dislike so much, and the watchtower that you hate out of the picture, will agree with me that at the end of the day, and on the whole, jw's really are a good bunch of people.
i did my same old rekky last sunday at the gillingham convention, and will have a good look around next sunday at twickenham convention.
i've been in lots of crowds, at stadiums and arenas, but an assembly is something else, it is somehow unique, its somehow different from any other crowds, there is a deep sense of "togetherness" i've not see any where else.

are all these other groups just "conformity" too or have you fallen for some other scam too?
For christs sake.......the thing I never understand is why you think all this decietfullness is a "Witness" thing, its almost like a conspiracy thing going on. Clearly I'm mistaken and didn't see what I see. I'm dumb. I'll go and sit back in the corner. Could it be that like I've said before you've become blindly condemnating even more so than the group you once belonged to? I've been away for a long time too, but you weaken your position by condemning everything, with no concessions. have a think.

Yes thats all true, and I know I have my own issues, for Gods sake I live them day in day out! But I just wanted you to try and "see" what I see. I can sit there in a stadium full of people and can see whats in front of my eyes, of course in my case it might not be translated into the same at a KH if they knew. BUT , I was just saying, in that example, you cannot knock them as a group. I watched really closely. and there is a genuine love amongst them. I've never seen that in other group en mass.
