Musky......Thankyou. Keep your mind open. Always question "Why are they saying that"? .......many here will not agree that it works both ways!

Forever Bashing JW's??
by ScoobySnax inok.....here's one for you.....maybe this follows on from previous posts about not forever being "ex-jws" as after all, you say you have to move on, and many here claim that they have.....however reading most posts here it becomes obvious that that doesn't seem to be the case.
many seem to be trapped in a "go get 'em" crusade against the jws that seems to go round and round ...... and others just go round.. why?
how long before resolution occurs?

I'm happy that most who come here PG can come and go as they like, back and forth, otherwise if that wasn't the case, I wouldn't be here....my post though wasn't about that.....like I said there only seems to be freedom and acceptance of speech here if you follow the "line". Of course you are free to say what you like, but the conformity here mirrors that what you criticise the JWs for albeit in reverse, there seems no room for anything but anti-JW views. Jehovahs Witnesses here are viewed as Apostates are at the Kingdom Hall, there is no difference as I see it. It just makes me wonder.....

OK.....Here's one for you.....maybe this follows on from previous posts about not forever being "EX-JWs" as after all, you say you have to move on, and many here claim that they have.....however reading most posts here it becomes obvious that that doesn't seem to be the case. many seem to be trapped in a "go get 'em" crusade against the JWs that seems to go round and round ...... and others just go round.. why? how long before resolution occurs? I understand that as humans we all feel/heal differently, but from someone who was a Witness as you mostly all were, this environment at times becomes more "closed" than the JWs ever were, Don't you think? Any dissenters in the ranks here are trashed or at best called Trolls and are ridiculed if the hook and line isn't followed. D/F or shunning.......what is worse? It seems evident more so here than what I remember at the K.H...... "FORUM FOR JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES------EVERYONE IS WELCOME......" Hmmmm.... I wonder. Its just doesn't ring true. Any Thoughts??

Not all of us are bitter Lucy, just approx 99% here, don't let me detract from the majority, but I have many happy memories.

JW/HLC visit to our hospital
by ScoobySnax inyesterday jehovahs witnesses and the hospital liason committee visited our hospital to donate a blood cell saver machine which had been funded by the local congregations in our county of kent in england.
a buffet lunch was provided, along with 4 talks to a large audience of surgical and medical consultants, anaetheologists, paedatricians, and obstetraticians (sp!
) about the future of blood and the transfusion of such products.

Thanks for all your replies to the post......I think many of you are way off mark in continuing to look for some hidden devious reasons as to why the HLC donated this machine from donations given by local congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses........ Of course the machine will be of benefit to JWs primarily, because of their stand on the blood issue, but there are many others too who refuse blood for other medical/health reasons.....these people will benefit too. It was interesting to see the reaction of medical professionals in attendance to the donation of the cell saver machine, they were very interested and acknowledged that transfusion of blood is becoming increasingly risky due to new strains of contamination, Bloodless Surgery is becoming the way forward, particularly in the field in which I work. Possible infection, side effects and longer recovery periods post surgery are well known, as well of the cost factor (always a prevalent thought in the NHS!) Any machine which benefits people regardless of the reasons is welcome. You are right though it did for a change, portray the Witnesses in a favourable light, and the barbeque chicken legs from the buffet provided were delicious!! .............Oh and one more thing SAM.......please don't call me a "she" ..last time I checked I had to stand up to wee, I think that makes me a Man!!!! Grrrrrr (hear that testosterone!)

You know what, I sort of realised by now that this is the wrong place to post about what I have, of course my enthusiasm isn't shared here. I don't agree with the posts you have made in reply, and I wonder what has happened to those who have replied, how awful to become so bitter. Of course this machine will benefit both Witnesses and non-witnesses in our area, however this you will not see, your posts bear that out, such is your hatred for anything that has any connection to the JWs..... that you fail to see beyond that. Everything you accuse the Witnesses of as regards to riddicule negativity and shunning you have become, so much of that here is prevalent. Funny that those in attendance at the presentation were so different, willing to listen with open minds, of course they've never been JW and you would tell them different that they were somehow misled about this "dangerous" cult, Of course there will always be sensible honest intelligent people out there who will see through that as yesterday demonstrated, such a shame that that isn't evident here.

Actually Sam, The points you raise are very good points, these were raised by concerned professionals in attendance, i.e the admission of a trauma patient in casualty following maybe a car traffic accident.....The cell saver can be set up in minutes when the call comes through enabling that type of treatment to be available when the patient arrives in A&E. Treatment of cancer patients was also raised and the concern that the machine would be viable in these instances, I'm not qualified to comment on that instance, but Cancer specialists present at the presentation appeared to have their questions answered satisfactorily..(I must admit, it went over my head at that point!)..... Anyway just to let you know...!
