just booked my holiday this year to kefallonia, a beautiful greek island in the med....and can't wait.
turquoise warm sea, fabulous scenery, cool appartments, big pool, hot hot sun, oh and plenty of bars to quench my thirst when it gets dark......have a look www.kefaloniathewaytogo.com counting down the days!!

hi everyone, in the congregation i grew up in, it was very cold and unloving.
circuit overseers would come and go, they would give counsel and nothing changed.
at one time even the do came at the same time as the co and gave counsel to 'widen out'.
Matt....... Twickenham
I remember one year circa 1983 (before Crystal Palace) my dad who is so NOT JW agreeing to take mum me and my sis to the convention there before the stadium makeover (when it was all green corragated east, west north south stands) As we were going in through the gates, there was this bloke standing there harrasing all the "faithful" going in, shouting things like repent, sinners, etc etc with this huge flipboard prop to the side of him. Naturally everyone ignored him. That was until we filed past, without a word, my dad (as he passed him) said in a loud voice, "Why don't you shut the F*** up you W***** . Needless to say Mum went absolutely mental at him when we got inside, the bloke looked like he'd been run over, other JWs behind us just stared, and my sis and me giggled for the rest of the day. (Out of sight of my mum) ......... We got the coach up for the next few years after that.

LOL...... Hayesbridge.....anyone have a pic of that? I remember a big long building with a WT Turret on the roof. My dad (who's not JW) only said the other day that the best meat pie he ever had was at Hayesbridge, not sure what that says about my mums cooking
I was only a kid when we used to go to Dorking Assembly Hall, I think that was an old cinema building, I can even remember the sound of the red velvet seats that popped up when you stood up, and the baptismal pool on the stage to the left, that I was forever getting told off about for dipping my hand into during the intermissions. (I was only 7 or 8) I think the WT sold that to NCP at the end of the Eighties. Still that was opposite a KFC, you can imagine the queue at the end of the assembly. (A bit like the queue at the Ice cream vans just outside Twickenham Rugby stadium last year) Awwww memories!!!

Brummie, thats exactly what I'm getting sick of......The poor ol ex-jw syndrome, they have 1000's around them(JWs), we have none(exJWs)....... See thats just the point. Everyone points out here how they are the last people they'd want to have around them (JWs) anymore, yet still they come here to recieve a pat on the back (good for them) yet cry fowl on the witnesses. Its called not being able to have it both ways. You sort of shot yourself in the foot with that reasoning.

Craig..... I've always respected you amongst many others here. You know that. But I was answering you from your post, no I don't know you and your previous 2 wives or their/your offspring, so like I said it didn't answer my question. I'm happy that you're happy with Katie now though.
It maybe an awful thing to say, but I'm getting tired of "ex jw" pain here. I'm sure this line will get quoted and attributed to me sometime soon.
I'm happy that you moved on.

.....they want sympathy???? No I don't think they want that. I still think however they feel hurt. You know, just like you and me.

....and Craig, no it doesn't answer my questions. You say you split from 2 other women, I never heard their stories. (always 2 sides and all that, though sometimes not apparent here) I do as always wish you and No.3 Katie all the best.
Its an viewpoint that doesn't really wash with me. sorry Craig.

I'm sure your heading for another congratulary clap on the back their Brummie....keep it up. Of course only Ex-Jws lose family members. Heaven forbid that JWs feel loss too somewhere along the line.
