2014 DC: Fewer, but larger venues in the U.S.

in the u.s. there are fewer venues this year, but they will be held in larger facilities.

as long as i can remember my family travelled no more than 2 hours to attend and in the last few years the dc was local (within a few minutes travel).

this year my family is driving 6 hours to a major u.s. city.

So the JWs will already know how to get to their designated meeting area after armegeddon.

They realized that controling groups of 10,000 will be much more difficult so they have to move to larger venues.

Make sure you know where it is because after armegeddon they will filter out the weak people that slipped through the cracks by saying "meet at last years convfention center". If you don't know where it is then you will be SOL when it comes to the spirtual food they will be passing out.

Or it could be money

Will this Memorial be our last?

they just put up the march km 2014 on the private website.

most of it is same-old-same-old, with info here and there about the memorial.. somebody here might post the march km for all to see, i wont.. i just wanted to share the paragraph from page 2 q&a anticle: will you seize the opportunity?

Seems a bit odd, isnt the memorial the one meeting most JWs make every effort to attend? I always did.

Why use your best bait when you already have the fish on the hook?

Maybe it is a sign of dwindling interest even in the memorial? Probably not but one can dream.

Satan rules the world, well according to the Watchtower Society, right?

a friend, and current witness, says the jehovah's witnesses have the truth because they're the only religion that state that satan is in control of the world and not god/jesus as some christian religions state.. how can i counter this argument?.

If by "rules the world", they mean Satan inspired the bible and other religious texts, and now uses them to confuse people and turn them against each other. Then I agree.

Quick question for recent convention attendees, did your hotel offer box lunches?

our hotel did, and on the surface that's no big deal.

matter fact i think it's a good business move on the hotel's part and pretty darn good customer service.

after the song was finished and the chairman did his announcements initiating the noon break, i got to wondering if the wt had anything to do with these box lunches offered by the hotel.

I'm more interested to know why they want people to stay inside during the break especially since they don't serve lunch anymore

And why would the city put up with that. The whole point ov a convention center is to bring money to the local economy isn't it?

I vaguely remember this but I was under the impression that the current light was that animals had lost their fear of man and they would get that back in the new system, and woul not become vegetarian

Dubs badmouthing children

i was remembering the 1980s when it was in vogue to shun children.

they went through a fad when they'd call unbaptized excommunication as "disassociation".

within a short period of time, most of the teens and preteens were "disassociated" or disfellowshipped.

They only did that to people that studied for a while out my way. I wonder if it got out of hand and that is why they changed thi policy.

I think you can still be marked as bad association but you aren't Shunned I don't Think

Latest WT: "Refusing to appear before a JC is like refusing medical treatment"

in the latest october 15th 2012 watchtower (page 13).... "because of what they perceive as defects in the elders, some individuals who engage in serious wrongdoing in the congregation have refused to appear before a committee of elders assigned to help them.

this could be likened to a patient who loses out on the benefits of a treatment because he does not like something about the doctor.".

sounds like they're now trying to stigmatize those who try to avoid judical action.

LOL like there are no doctors you should avoid. I have seen a couple doctors I would think twice about using again even in an emergency.

Why go to a therapist when a good old JC will do.
