konceptual99 But does the GB have to be the ones to play the GT card? They have the RnF conditioned to see the GT around every corner.

I am wondering what happens if the general jw population sees this as part of the GT. What happens if God doesn't step in to save them from it.

"i do not mean by a christian any person who tries to live decently according to his lights.

i think that you must have a certain amount of definite belief before you have a right to call yourself a christian.

the word does not have quite such a full-blooded meaning now as it had in the times of st. augustine and st. thomas aquinas.

Not sure how your comments relate to the title but I used to watch Davy and Goliath all the time. Never realized it was religious till years later.

are jws trying to make dysfunctional kids that wont "fit" in normal society so they will "return to jehovah"?

because there have been many stories about young people who have been out in the world only to find how bad it was and how correct the org was.. a good jw kid with "good" jw parents will have many big issues, some examples:.

fear of demons (fear, misfit).

Interesting point about those now dead that took the broad road. Especially when you consider that the only real difference is that they didn't have the JWs particular interpretation of the bible being preached to them by a small group of odd mostly uneducated people.

today's watchtower study article is all about jesus.

this stuck out to me after a year of hanging out on here where one frequent point of criticism is that jws claim to be christians but never talk about jesus.. anyone think it's a coincidence that today was the "special talk" follow-up to the memorial?

i think not - this is the most attended sunday meeting of the year, complete with many ubms, studies, and miscellaneous other potential victims who have been subjected to a coordinated effort to pressure them into attending.

He never called undue attention to himself. Instead, he directed all glory to his Father.

I never heard of Jesus wearing a jesus.org pin. And he never went around telling everyone how humble he was (or did he).

And I just noticed that the front page of jw.borg mentions Jehovah 3 times one of which is the title of a featured article. But it mentions Jehovah's Witnesses 6 times

there where always questions i had growing up regarding things i was taught.

of course asking questions while being a jw is a big no no!

God lost that bet a long time ago and even more so if JW really are the one true religion.
