strangely, some pioneer boys from another town started a band and their repetoire was all Hendrix and Led Zeppelin stuff, so I guess thise rumors never made it to Tasmania.

by Gorbatchov inthis weekend watchtower study at the kh had included a picture on page 31 (watchtower march 15).. on the picture a sister is speaking / testify at a court.. at the wall of the court chamber, there are 2 pictures of imaginal political leaders.. am i wrong, do i see a joke of the wts graphic department?
because they are very similar to 2 governing body members.. fun ?!

I've been in lots of courts in different countries and the only time the public stands is when the magistate enters/leaves. not during a testimony.

i remember my BF's dad (who was not a Jw but came to meetings just to humor his wife) actually raised his hand during the study and pointed this out- everyone laughed their asses off.

its the ONLY song i know how to play on piano aside from chopsticks. SO when my kids ask me to show them how to play pianao its the one thing I play but I never tell them what the song is.
without a doubt the most popular songin our congo was "A paradise the earth will be with eyes of faith this we can see...."
DOes anyone recall what is the song that is the same tune as a christmas carol? that used to get all the teen boys cracking up whenever we sang it.

I think the booktable is a growing approach
they cant do door to door so easily now - people are becoming more litigious especially here in australia where lawsuits far outnumber the US
its also a less confrontational approach and it allows them to "proclaim the name of Jehovah" using their big banners etc - which they obviously cant do at doors.
Remember, for witnesses (just as with Hare Krishnas) its all about getting Gods name to the people.

How should I respond to a JW friend? (Australia)
by summerinvincible insorry if this isn't the right place to post this - brand new member here.. i recently caught up with an old friend who is a jw.
she's been witnessing to me, and i've accepted all her handouts because i don't want to hurt her feelings.
but now she's asking me for my "thoughts" about what i've read so far.

You are right about going head to head with scripture it's not gonna do much.
Most experts on cult exiting tend to agree that its better to take an example of someone in a DIFFERENT cult (so for JW's use a moonie etc) because its less comnfrontational and then point out to the cult member the similarities of their cult.
Now the whole Camping Rapture thing is still pretty fresh and you CANT get a better example than that!
Since all JW doctrine is based around armageddon, chosen people etc etc, you need to hit at that issue.
Forget blood, forget anything else... focus on the things that makes JW's what they truly are.
If you take away the WTS as the faitful slave and you take away armageddon they have nothing.

New Here, Hello Guys - New website idea
by garbonzo inhello, i'm a 'active' 17 yr. old jw, saw this site before when i was still searching for answers, i gotta say, it's not a good site to convert jws, because most of the people on here seem to hate the "borg" (as you call it on here?
i rather had to go on a scientific forum to get answers to my questions about jw (or rather the bible in general) with a very open mind, and actually thinking to convert some of them if i was lucky.
rather, i saw that everything the society gave us was easily refutable, or on shaky grounds.
